a) Jawairiah(Rathiyallaho anha')

It is interesting to know that Jawairiyah straightly refused to marry any common Muslim, and requested the

Holy Prophet that she being the daughter of the tribal chief be freed after getting ransom. The Holy Prophet offered her a better choice of marrying him, when the ransom had to be paid by him, in return. She quite willingly and readily accepted the offer. (Ibn Hashsham, Vol. II, page 251)

According to another report, Harith bin Abu Zarar, the tribal chief and father of Jawairiyah, after being defeated, brought some camels of goods to the Holy Prophet for the release of her daughter. He, however, on the way left behind the beautiful goods carried by two of his camels in the valley of Aqeeq. Harith appeared to the Holy Prophet(peace be upon him) with the rest of his camels and submitted: ‘ Muhammad (peace be upon him)! Here is the ransom of my daughter. Now please free her.’ The Holy Prophet replied:“And where are the two camels of goods which you have left behind, as hidden, in the Valley of Aqeeq.” Harith on hearing that immediately accepted Islam by stating that no body knew such a fact excepting Allah. Being greatly impressed by the Holy Prophet, the two sons of Harith as well as others from his tribe also accepted Islam. The Holy Prophet(peace be upon him) then married Jawairiyah with her willingness as well as of his father, after their acceptance of Islam, and paid her the dowry of 400 Dirham. (Ibn Hashsham, Vol. II, pages 251, 252)

According to still another report, when Harith brought many camels of goods as ransom for getting her daughter freed, the Holy Prophet(peace be upon him) left the decision on Jawairiyah. She, however, refused to go back with her father and stated clearly that she would like to stay in the service of Muhammad (peace be upon him).’ The Holy Prophet(peace be upon him) then married her after her acceptance of Islam and gave her the dowry.
