From Ibn Hashsham, it appears that the Holy Prophet before his marriage conducted a business tour on behalf of Khadijah to Syria, which yielded almost 100% profit, and that on the way, he stayed under a tree where only a Prophet could stay, plus the fact that the angels provided him shadow during extreme sunshine. Ibn Hashsham, Vol. I, P.211,212]

Ibn Hashsham has further reported that when the Holy Prophet informed Khadijah(Rathiyallaho anha') about the details of the First Revelation given to him in the Cave of Hira, she submitted that he should rejoice and show steadfastness and that he is the Prophet of this Ummah. (Ibn Hashsham,Vol.I, P.263). Thus, Khadijah(Rathiyallaho anha') was the first to believe in him as the Prophet Of Allah, when he declared his Prophet-hood at forty, on getting the First Revelation.

Khadijah generously kept all of her wealth open for the propagation of Islam as well as for meeting the needs of the orphans, widows, the needy etc. In all difficulties, she stood by the Holy Prophet with great perseverance, particularly when the Quraish economically and socially cut them off for three years.

Khadijah(Rathiyallaho anha'), the blessed, was greatly honored when Almighty Allah sent His Slam (Peace) to her through Angel Gibraeel and the Holy Prophet. (Bukhari: 7058). After living quite happily with the Holy Prophet for 25 years, she passed away when he was fifty. It was because of her influence that many ladies and men from her tribe (Asad) accepted Islam. It is important to note that during her lifetime, the Holy Prophet did not marry any other woman. He greatly remembered her after her death, and often mentioned to A’isha (his other wife) in Madina about her excellent qualities. (Bukhari & Muslim-Mishkat:5924)

The Holy Prophet said:

“ The superior most women in the entire world …are: “ Maryam daughter

of Imran (i.e. the mother of Prophet Isa), Khadijah daughter of Khwailid

(i.e. the wife of the Holy Prophet), Fitima daughter of Muhammad (-the

Holy Prophet -peace be upon him) and Asiya wife of Phiraun.”

(Tirmizi-Mishkat: 5928)

From Khadijah(Rathiyallaho anha'), the Holy Prophet had four daughters (Ruqayyah, Zainab, Umm-e-Kalsum, and Fatimah) as well as three sons (Qasim, Tahir and Tayyib). All the three sons died before Islam. (Seerat-un-Nabi by Ibn Hashsham, Vol.I, page 212,213)
