It can not tolerate that the vagabonds like the adulterer and the adulteress move hither and thither like animals to fulfil their lustful desires. It may be noted that the Holy Prophet warned that the intoxicant is the root cause of all shameful acts. (Ahmad-Mishkat:54)

The Holy Prophet banned all types of business related to intoxicants. He cursed those who …use, serve, sell, process and market intoxicants…(Abu daud, Ibn Majah-Mishkat:2657).

Further the intoxicated people were severely beaten in public with sticks and shoes on the orders of the Holy Prophet, as already mentioned above under ‘punishment’. Caliphs Abu Bakr and Umar gave a punishment of 40 / 80 lashes, as stated therein.

2:220 WELFARE OF ORPHANS & WIDOWS

2:220 “(Think deeply in the Verses) about matters relating to this world and the last world. And they (further) ask you (Holy Prophet) about orphans. Say: ‘Whatever is best for them, follow that way.’ And if you (feel that it is in the fittest of things to) mix them with yourselves (through business or even by marrying their mothers i.e. the widows, just for their benefit,) (there is no harm in it) as ,after all, they are your brothers. [But this mixing should never be done for eating their wealth (4:2)]. And Allah knows all about the person, who makes trouble and separates him from the person, who wishes (the orphans and widows) well. And had Allah willed, he would have put you in trouble (for not providing you the option of mixing, and commanding you to adopt other ways for their betterment and for safeguarding their wealth). Indeed, Allah is All Powerful, All Wise.

...................................................

The Holy Quran has greatly emphasized the betterment of the orphans, as is visible from the above Verse. The Holy Quran further warns:

a) “Don’t draw near the wealth of orphans except what is better for

them...” (6:152;17:34)

b) “Those, who eat away the wealth of orphans unjustly, they eat in their

stomach the fire only.” (4:10)

The Holy Prophet said:

The person, who struggles hard for (meeting the needs of) the

widows and ‘masakeen (i.e. the poor persons) is like a ‘Mujahid’

(fighting) in the Way of Allah or is like a person, who fasts during

the days and prays during the nights.” (Bukhari:5660)
