21) “The Holy Prophet
was asked few questions about which he answered as below:
Question: ‘Which deed is the best?’
Answer: “Standing in prayers for a long time.”
Question: ‘Which charity is the best?’
Answer: “The struggle of a poor person (for earning livelihood)
Question: ‘Which Jihad is the best?’
Answer: “Jihad against Mushrikeen with wealth and life.”
Question: ‘which killing is the best?’
Answer: “(The killing of a man) whose blood has been shed and the legs of
whose horse have been cut off.” (Abu Daud – Mishkat: 3655)
22) In the Battle of Badr, Auf bin Harith, who was wearing an armor, submitted: ‘Allah’s Messenger! Which deed of a slave pleases (his) Lord (Allah)?’
The Holy Prophet
“ The deed of a person, who is without an armor, but thrusts his hand in the blood of
the enemy.”
On hearing that, Auf put off his armor, took the sword in his hand and started fighting the enemy till he was martyred. (Ibn Hashsham)
23) “Ayesha (mother of the believers) submitted:
Allah’s messenger! We consider Jihad as the superior most deed.
Should we not then participate in Jihad?’ The Holy Prophet replied:
For you women, the superior most Jihad is Hajj Mabroor (i.e.Hajj
without any sin).” (Bukhari:1448, 1762)
[After listening to this, Ayesha (mother of the believers) stated that she did not omit Hajj.] (Bukhari:1762)
