2:215 “They ask you (Holy Prophet) where to spend. Say (to them): ‘What ever you spend for achieving goodness must be on the parents, relatives, orphans, masakeen (the needy) and the travelers. And what ever good you do, Allah is, of course, All Aware of it.”

The Holy Prophet

life, he must treat his relatives with kindness.”
(Bukhari:5639)
b) “The person who struggles hard to meet the needs of widows and
‘masakeen’ (needy), he is like that of a Mujahid (fighting) in the way
of Allah…..” (Bukhsri:5661)
c) “A person is not a ‘Miskeen’, who begs even for a morsel or two, but a
miskeen is a person who does not have so much money so as to
become careless of people, and who is ashamed of asking (begging)
them.” (Bukhari: 1406) (see also 2:273)
In the next Verse 2:216, Jihad has been made obligatory.
