2:197 “ The months of Hajj are well known (i.e. Shawwal, Zi-Qad, and

10 days of Zil-Hajj)*. Whosoever (therefore) intends to perform Hajj

in it (and wears Ihram for it), he must not maintain any sexual

relation with his wife, nor disobey (Allah & His Messenger), and also

not quarrel / fight during Hajj. And any good you do, Allah knows it.

And carry money** with you (for performing Hajj). And, indeed, the

best money is Taqwa (i.e. not to beg with the fear of Allah), and fear

Me (Allah), O’ people of Wisdom.”

*[ See Sahih l-Bukhari-The statement of Ibn Umar before Hadith No.1485.]

**[ Ibn abbas reported that the people of Yemen proceeded for Hajj without

carrying any money with them, and they begged there by stating that they

trusted Allah. On this, Almighty Allah revealed the above Verse.]

[(Bukhari-before Hadith No.1452)]

2:198 “ There is no sin on your part, if you seek the Grace of Allah

(i.e. if you do business during Jihad), and when you return from Arafat,

remember Allah (also) near Mashar-ul-Haram (in Muzdalfa), and

remember Him, as He guided you (i.e. pray to Allah, as the Holy

Prophet did), and certainly before this you were amongst the

misguided people.”

2:199 “ And you must return from the place (of Arafat) just as the (common) people do (i.e. without showing any distinction), and seek forgiveness of Allah. Surely, Allah is Most forgiving, Most Merciful.”
