2:163 TAUHEED (‘THE ONENESS OF ALMIGHTY ALLAH’)
2;163 “ And your ‘Ilah’ (God) is the ‘Only One Ilah’ (i.e. Allah). There
is (definitely) no other Ilah (God) , but He (Allah) alone, the Most
Benevolent, the Most Merciful.”

The Oneness of Allah & Rejection of ‘Shirk’:
Almighty Allah alone is Ilah (God) of the entire universe, and He alone has the right to be worshipped and obeyed. To set up partners with Him is an unpardonable crime, never to be forgiven.
The Holy Prophet
said:
“ Almighty Allah says: ‘ O’ son of Adam! So long as you call Me, and
attach your hopes with Me, I will forgive you. And even if your sins reach
the heights of the heavens, and you seek forgiveness from Me, I will
forgive you. And O’ son of Adam! I don’t care that if you meet Me (on the
Day of Judgement) in a condition that you carry the sins equal to earth, I
will meet you with forgiveness equivalent to the vastness of earth,
provided that you have not committed ‘shirk’ (i.e. you have not
associated any partner with Me).” (Tirmizi, Darmi – Mishkat:2228)
Al-Quran states further:
“ And, of course, it has been revealed to you (Holy Prophet), as it was
revealed to those before you that if you ( who hears) associate any
partner with Allah , all of your deeds will be destroyed…” (39:65)
ISLAM AS A SCIENTIFIC RELIGION:
In the next Verse, scientific proofs about the Oneness of Allah have been given, since Islam is a religion that emphasizes reason, in-depth thinking, and investigation. It is not the religion that is based upon hypotheses (10:36,39;31:6), but rather it is a religion of knowledge, wisdom, logic and of deep thinking. (39:9;58:11;35:28)
There is no compulsion in Islam regarding its acceptance. The right has been distinguished from the wrong. Whosoever wishes, let him believe;and whosoever wishes to disbelieve, let him do so. (2:256;18:29)
