"Good night Mr. Charles." Liz said to the last customer to leave the
Crashdown Cafe.

She immediately sat down at the counter to rest after a long day.

"I washed all the dishes." Michael said as he took off his bandana.

"Thanks Michael." Liz said.

"You look very tired."

"Well working with Maria on sick leave will do that to you."

"You want a Cherry Coke?"

"Sure. "

Michael went behind the counter and fixed two glasses of Cherry Cokes for
himself and Liz.

"Here you go." Michael said as he gave Liz her glass.

"Thanks Michael." Liz said. "You`ve been a real help today."

"Well i do whatever i can to help out." Michael said as he drank his glass
of Cherry Coke. "Plus i need the money for rent."

"Yeah can`t forget about." Liz said. "So what`s been up with you and Maria
lately?"

"Well Maria`s been bugging the hell out of me lately."

"What is she bugging you about this time?"

"She wants me to be more like Max." Michael said as he finished off his
glass of Cherry Coke. "But i`m not good at doing all that romantic crap he
does for you."

"I already know about it, especially with that generic shampoo you brought
her." Liz giggled.

"Sometimes i don`t know whether i want to be with Maria or just tell her to
fuck off."

"The only reason why Maria is doing this Michael is because she cares a lot
about you." Liz said as she put the glasses away. "Why don`t tell her to
stop?"

"Because she would get pissed off at me and tell me that i`m an uncaring
asshole." Michael said as he locked the doors. "She is such a pain in the
ass."

"Well that`s Maria for you, but she can also be a pretty good friend."

"Yeah i guess." Michael said. "Do you have a t-shirt that i can wear because
my shirt stinks."

"Sure." Liz said as she went to get one of her dad`s old shirts. "Will this
do?"

"Oh yeah." Michael said as he took the shirt and went to the back room to
change.

Liz briefly waited outside, but she decided to peek inside the back room.
she saw Michael shirtless for the first time. She admired the way his
muscular body looked.

"I see you staring at me out there Liz." Michael said as he put the shirt
on.
"I`m sorry Michael." Liz said as she came inside the back room. "I got a
little inpatient waiting out there."

"Don`t worry Liz, it`s not like i was naked in here." Michael said as he got
his bottle of Tobasco sauce.

"So i guess i`ll see you tomorrow." Liz said.

"Yeah."

"It was nice talking to you."

"It was nice talking to you too." Michael said as he opened the door.

Michael was about leave for home, but instead went back inside. she saw Liz
sitting at the counter crying.

"Are you alright?" Michael asked.

"No i`m not." Liz replied with tears streaming down her face. "I can`t stop
thinking about seeing Max kissing Tess."

"It`s okay." Michael said as he held Liz. "Max was just being an asshole."

"It was like my worst nightmare."

"Max doesn`t deserve someone like you." Michael said as he wiped the tears
off of Liz`s face. "If he cared anything about you, he wouldn`t had kissed
Tess."

"He said that he saw something when he kissed her."

"Didn`t he see something when he kissed you?"

"Yes. I thought that I was the only one," Liz said. "but apparently I'm
not."
"Liz i think that you shouldn't dwell on it and waste your tears
because of Max."

"Thanks Michael." Liz said as she hugged Michael. "You've been a great help
for me today."

Michael held Liz in his arms for another minute. then he rubbed Liz's dark
hair.

"I've got to go now." Liz said as she started off for her room.

"Please wait Liz." Michael said.

"What is it Michael?"

Then without warning Michael pulled Liz back to him and kissed her.

"Stop it Michael." Liz said as she pushed him away. "We shouldn`t be doing
this."

"I'm sorry Liz, but I couldn't help myself." Michael said. "I've been
wanting to do that for a while."

"Why?" Liz asked. "So you could get back at Max?"

"No." Michael replied. "I did it because i have feelings for you."

"How long have you had these feelings for me?"

"Ever since i took your diary." Michael said. "I really think that you`re a
very beautiful person Liz. You`re very strong and loyal. I really admire you
for that."

"What about Maria?" Liz asked. "I don`t want to hurt her."

"Me neither." Michael replied. "I care about her a lot, but i wish that she
was a lot more like you."

Liz was speechless after hearing Michael`s confession. for a moment she
wrestled with her feelings about Michael. He was pretty much a stranger most
of the time to her, but she liked his reckless, rebellious attitude, which
was a direct contrast to Max`s calm, icy demeanor. Liz took off the spare
shirt that she gave to Michael and begin kissing him. Their kissing grew more
passionate with their tongues exploring each other`s mouths.

Michael moved his hands underneath Liz`s uniform to touch her breasts. then
