[SCENE: at school. Next day after Liz and Max share their first kiss

Liz Parker smiled. She was thinking about what happened last night with Max
Evans. They had shared their first kiss on the rooftop. Just thinking about
it made her want Max with her right now so they could continue what they had
been doing.
"Hey Liz. Earth to Liz!"
"What?" Liz looked over at her best friend Maria De Luca. She looked
annoyed.
"Did you hear a damn word I said Liz?"
Liz stuck a strand of her long silky brown hair behind her ear and gave her
friend an apologetic smile.
"Sorry Maria. I was just tuned out for a bit."
Maria grinned suddenly. "Thinkin' 'bout Max again? Why don't you just invite
him to the eraser room or something?"
Liz laughed. "Okay. So what were you saying?"
"Well I was just thinking. Maybe we could go to the mall today and shop for
the Spring Dance next week."
Liz nodded. "That would be great. Do you have your mom's car with you
today?"
Maria nodded. Then she wrinkled her nose. "I have to find a killer dress
that will blow Michael away if he sees it."
Liz grinned. "So he asked you?"
"Well technically no. But after those heavy makeout sessions you would
expect to go to the Spring Dance!"
Liz laughed. Then as she turned her head to look behind her it seemed like
everything was going slow motion. Liz's heart pounded faster and faster as
she watched Max walk over to her. His eyes stared into her own as he walked
up next to her and Maria.
Maria rolled her eyes. "I'm leaving. Liz I'll meet you after school in the
parking lot ok?"
Liz nodded then looked over at Max.
"Hey." he said shyly.
"Hey." Liz replied, equally as shy.
"Um so what are you and Maria going to do after school today?" Max asked.
"Well, we're heading to the mall to shop for the Spring Dance."
"Oh... yeah I might be heading to the mall too because uh, Isabel needs a
dress too and I agreed to take her."
Liz smiled. "Maybe I'll see you there then!"
Max nodded. Then he stared at her beautiful hair and he suddenly had an urge
to run his hand through it just like he had done last night.
Liz smiled mischievously. "Hey Max. Maybe we could...head over to the eraser
room to you know, clean erasers?"
Max grinned and nodded. "Meet you there in sixth period?"
Liz nodded. Then the bell rang and both Liz and Max winced at the loudness.
"Hate the bell." Liz muttered. Max stared at her. Then he gently took her
hand. Liz's breath caught and she stared back at him.
"Walk you to class Liz?" he asked. Liz nodded. Then they walked hand in hand
to her next class.

"Those two make me gag." Michael muttered to Isabel. Isabel laughed.
"They've only been together for one day Michael. Give them a break."
The two of them continued staring over at Max and Liz. The two of them were
cuddling in front of the huge Oak tree.
"Seriously. I would never cuddle in front of people."
Isabel smirked. "That would explain your relationship with Maria."
Michael glared at her. "For you information Isabel, I'm going to the dance
with her."
"So you asked her."
"Not exactly."
"What do you mean?"
Michael grinned. "Well you would kinda assume you were gonna go with her to
the dance after all those heavy make-out sessions."
Isabel rolled her eyes. "You should still ask her."
Michael ran his hand through his hair. Hmm maybe he should ask her. Just to
be safe. He had seen some of the other guys talking to her. He didn't want
to risk anything.
"Seeya Iz. Gotta go find Maria."
Isabel rolled her eyes again. They were all lovesick puppy dogs.
"Hey Isabel."
Isabel looked up. Alex. "Hi Alex." She gave him a smile and he smiled back
with his cute goofy grin. Suddenly Isabel remembered how he had blown her
off after he had suspected her in trying to seduce him to being quiet about
the blood thing he had to do for Max. It had been at the Soap factory party.
Isabel could still remember how confused it had made her.
"So what's up Isabel?" Alex asked. He suddenly felt uncomfortable at the
sudden cool look that washed over Iz's face. Could she still be mad about
last night? He had just found out that Isabel, Max and Michael were
'Czechoslovakians' last night when Liz had finally told him too and didn't
need anymore confusion or any other crap.
"What do you want Alex?" Isabel asked. She flipped her long blonde hair
behind her shoulder and gave him a look of boredom.
"Well I just wanted to apologize for the way I acted last night." Alex said.
He watched Isabel's face closely and wondered what she was thinking.
"Apology not accepted. I don't appreciate it when someone just blows me off
for no reason."
Alex groaned. "Isabel you know I was just suspicious!"
Isabel held back a laugh as she stared coolly at the look of dismay on his
face.
"Isabel please forgive me! With cherry on top?"
Isabel shook her head and pretended to be interested in one of her nails.
"Okay. Here's a peace offering." Alex handed her a doughnut with tabasco
sauce splattered all over it.
Isabel looked at the doughnut suspiciously and bit into it. It was good. She
smiled at him. "Fine Alex. I forgive you."
Alex broke out into a grin.
Isabel set down the doughnut. "So tell me Alex...do you have a date for the
Spring Dance yet?"

Michael sprinted after Maria. He had just seen her turn a corner.
"Maria!" he shouted. She stopped and turned around.
"Michael! What's wrong?" She asked.
"Uh nothing." Michael was out of breath and held up a hand to motion for her
to wait.
"Um so I was just wondering-"
Maria shook her head. "I can't go to the eraser room today. Max and Liz are
going. Sorry."
Michael laughed. "No it's not about that! I was just wondering..."
Why was he all of a sudden getting nervous about asking her to the dance? He
knew she would say yet.
"Keep going..." Maria told him. "Okay uh would you like to go to the dance
with me Maria?" Michael asked.
"Nope. I'm already going with someone." Maria stared at the crushed look on
Michael's face. Then she grinned. "Just joking. Of course I'll go with you!"
Michael breathed a sigh of relief. Then he leaned closer to her. "Too bad
about the eraser room thing." he whispered.

"Isabel! Isabel wait up!" Isabel turned around and saw Max chasing after
her.
"What is it? Is something wrong?" she asked, concerned. Max never shouted
her name like that. Especially not out in public.
"Nothing's wrong. I just need to ask you a huge favor."
"Sure what is it?"
"Uh can I take you to the mall today?"
Isabel looked at him in surprise. "You. Max Evans. Wants to take me, Isabel
Evans out shopping?"
Max nodded. Isabel burst out laughing. "Max the last time you went with me
you ended up with like, 4 blisters on your feet!"
"Iz I'm serious." Max looked at his watch. He needed to head on over to the
eraser room to meet Liz soon.
Isabel grinned. "Sure you can take me. I need to look for a dress for the
Spring Dance anyway."
"Thanks. I mean, yeah okay." Max said.
Isabel eyed him suspiciously. "Max... is there something you're not telling
me? I mean, why is this a favor to you?"
"You'll see."

Liz looked to her left. Then looked to her right. Good no one would notice
her. She opened the door of the eraser room and walked in, shutting the door
behind her. She leaned against the wall and waited for Max. About ten
seconds later the door opened and there stood Max. He quickly shut the door
and not noticing Liz standing by the wall. She giggled and put her hands
onto his eyes.
"Guess who?" Liz whispered.
"The most beautiful girl in the world?" Max spun around and put his arms
around her. She stared at him then ran her hand through his hair. Max
lowered his lips and kissed her softly. Then Liz wrapped her arms around his
neck.
Max loved the way her hair felt in his hands as he kissed her. Liz nudged
him against the wall and broke away from him.
Max felt empty when his lips weren't on hers.
"Come here." he whispered. Liz trickled her index finger along his jaw.
"Max... we're going to the dance together right?" she asked.
That was the most ridiculous question anyone had ever asked him!
"Of course. I didn't think I would need to ask."
Liz smiled. "I'm glad we're going together."
"Me too." Then Max grabbed her and they started kissing again.

[SCENE: the mall]

"I'm so glad we bumped into each other Max!" Liz exclaimed. She clutched her
shopping bag tightly as he smiled at her.
"Yeah me too." he agreed. Just then Isabel grabbed him by the shoulder.
"Come on Max. We've gotta get home now."
Max nodded. Then he looked back at Liz. "I'll see you later." he murmured.
Liz nodded.
"Bye Liz and Maria." Isabel called then she dragged Max away to another
store.
"I knew you were up to something Maxwell!" Isabel said. Max laughed. "What
do you mean?"
Isabel stopped walking. "Well I was suspicious when you asked for me to go
to the mall with you as a favor. At first I didn't' get it but now I do! You
set this all up so you could 'accidentally' bump into Liz! Just admit it!"
Max lifted up both his hands to surrender. "Okay so I admit it."
Isabel moaned. "Now I feel like I've been used."
Max laughed. "Come on lets go."

[SCENE: Night of the Spring Dance]

Max waited nervously near the stairs. He couldn't wait to see Liz in her
dress. He smoothed down his dark blue tie and looked at himself in the
mirror. He didn't look half-bad. Hair a little bit sticking up but
everything else seemed fine.
"Max?"
Max looked up and the air in his lungs vanished. He stared at Liz's dress.
It was black and tight and was held up by two thin lines across each of her
shoulder. And her hair. Her hair was curled and flowed around her face
making her as irresistible as ever.
He took a deep breath. "Liz you look so amazing."
Liz blushed. "Thank you. You look great too."
Then she took his hand and they walked out to the jeep.

"Maria you're so slow!" Michael called from the living room.
"Shut up Michael!" Maria yelled from her bedroom. Michael grinned and sat
down on a chair. He couldn't wait to see what she looked like.
"Ok I'm comin' out!" Maria yelled. She walked over to the living room and
saw Michael gape at her. She had a low cut dark green slinky dress that was
tight and showed off her curves. And her hair was pinned back with sparkly
clips.
"You look beautiful." Michael said as he took her hand.
Maria looked him up and down. "You don't look half bad either Guerin."

Alex nervously rang the doorbell. He couldn't believe he was actually going
to the dance with Isabel Evans. Alex straightened up his tie and waited. The
door opened and there stood Isabel looking as beautiful as ever. She had on
a dark blue spaghetti strapped dress that made her look so incredibly sexy
and her hair was pulled back into a bun with wisps of hair coming out.
"You look so good." Alex said with shock as he stared at her.
Isabel smiled. "So do you Alex. Lets go now."

[SCENE: the dance]

Max trickled his hand lightly to the small of Liz's back. She sighed with
contentment as they danced slowly to the last song that was going to play
tonight. Tonight had been one of the most incredible nights of Liz's life.
"Hope you had fun." Max whispered in her ear. Liz wrapped her arms tighter
around him.
"I did have fun Max. And I still am." she whispered. Then she lifted her
head and gave him a long sweet kiss.
Max pulled back a bit. Their face was still close to each other with their
noses touching.
"Liz... I... I love you." he murmured. Liz's eyes filled with tears. Then
she leaned her head against his chest.
"Max... I love you too."

"Last song." Michael muttered.
"No duh." Maria said. She wrapped her arms around Michael's neck and swayed
with him.
"You look gorgeous tonight Maria." Michael whispered in her ear.
Maria smiled. Then she lifted her toes and kissed him softly on the lips.

Isabel rolled her eyes as she danced with Alex to the last song of the
night. He was babbling about how he and his band did this and how him and
his band did that.
"Alex." she groaned.
"What! Oh god I'm so sorry! I just keep babbling on and on. I'm such an
idiot! Lets talk about you now!"
Isabel sighed. "Alex shut up." Then she lifted her face and kissed him.

This was one night the six of them would never forget.
