   Maya walked happily through the crowded hallway headed in the general direction of her locker. She rounded the corner and smiled when she saw Kyle leaning against her locker door. She walked up to him quietly and put her hands over his eyes and whispered "Guess who?"

    "Hey Vicki." He replied trying not to laugh. Maya pulled back and smacked him and turned to open her locker. He smiled and watched her pretending to be angry at him. She was so vibrant, so happy now. It had been 5 months since she had told him her secret, 5 months since he had convinced her to stay. The others didn't know and as far as he could tell she wasn't about to let them in on her secret. Michael and Maria, walked up hand in hand and exchanged happy smiles with Kyle. They had all become friends over the last few months, and Kyle hadn't realized how many happy intelligent conversations he had missed out on sitting with his jock friends until he had started eating with Maya. He had never been in a tightly knit group of friends who would give there lives to protect each other. Now he had no idea how he had managed to stay sane without them.

    "So are we gonna go out again tonight?" Maria asked grinning. Maya smiled and looked over at Kyle. He nodded his head ever so slightly.

    "Yeah we'll be there." Maya shut her locker and Kyle offered her his arm. She smiled at him and waved good bye to Michael and Maria. "So how did you sleep after I left?" Maya whispered. Kyle grinned and replied "I couldn't sleep there was just something missing." Maya had taken to coming over to his house at night after she had started having nightmares a few months back, nothing ever happened she just couldn't sleep any where but in his arms. He pulled her close and kissed her lightly on the nose before walking into homeroom together. Liz smiled at Maya, and handed her a note as Maya sat down. Maya carefully unfolded it and looked at it.

Maya,

I was driving home from Max's last night and I saw you climbing out of Kyle's bedroom window! When did this happen? I can't believe you kept this a secret!!!! How long has this been going on? What exactly is going on between you two!!! I need details!!! Have you ever heard of spontaneous combustion? Its when two chemicals.. Never mind you get my drift!! I expect a full detailed story by Bio!

Maya pulled out a piece of paper and replied as quickly as she could without, the teacher noticing.

Liz,

Its been going on since a few months ago when I was having weird nightmares each night. One night I just couldn't be alone, so I walked over to his house and he held me until I fell asleep. We haven't done anything, so don't even think it! Please don't say anything to anyone else. If Michael found out I'm almost positive he would kill both of us. Hey wait a sec!! What were you doing coming home from Max's house at 5:00 this morning??? Hmmmm this could get interesting. I will give you all of my details if you give me all of your details.

Maya

Liz blushed and scribbled her response on the back of Maya's letter.

Ok Maya,

You win, no details. But I have to have a little info!!! Please!!! I'll give you some info if you give me some of yours. OK?

Liz

    Maya smiled and nodded at Liz, and turned around to see what Kyle was doing. She smiled when she saw him watching her. He smiled and blew her a kiss. She blew him one back and turned to face the front of the classroom again. The teacher was droning on and on about the importance of trying your hardest to succeed. Maya looked at the clock and sighed. //Five More minutes.//

    Liz sat back in her chair and smiled. She always loved it when the teacher had lengthy discussions like this. She could talk to Max if he wasn't doing anything important. //Max? Are you busy?//. \\No. What's up?\\ //Nothing Im just bored. I had a good time last night.// Liz smiled when she felt the blush through his thoughts. \\ I had a good time too. Except I couldn't sleep after you left\\ Liz smiled and thought. So now all the couples except for Alex and Isabelle were sleeping together but not "Sleeping Together". //Are we still on for tonight?// \\Yeah I'll pick you up at 7.\\ //Where are we going?// \\Its a surprise\\ She started to respond but was interrupted by the bell.

    The morning went by slowly for Maya and she was relieved when her lunch period came. Maya walked slowly out to the quad and headed for her usual table. She dropped her things on the ground and laid her head down on the table. She was so tired!! She had, had another nightmare last night. It was the same as always. She was falling through space with meteors ramming into her and she could here voices screaming in agony. In the dream she always tried to find them, but in the end she just disappeared. Maya shivered at the thought and closed her eyes trying to block out her thoughts. Suddenly she was falling but this time she recognized the voices. She could here Max, Isabelle, and Michael. They were crying to her, begging her to help them. She looked and looked but she couldn't find them. Suddenly she stumbled over three bassinets. She looked down into the eyes of her three friends as babies. Without thinking she picked them up and ran. There was nothing here. Suddenly four pods popped up in front of her and she put each of the babies into one and jumped into the last one. She heard voices again except she knew it was coming from the reality she had left a few minutes earlier. "I'm here she called" trying desperately to wake up from this horrible dream. Suddenly she was running through the desert holding the three pods. There were voices behind her and the sounds of blood hounds balling made her shiver. She ran into a cave and set the pods down, to catch her breathe. She felt a hand on her shoulder and she awoke. Kyle and the rest of her friends were watching her with concern. Maya started crying hysterically and Kyle pulled her into his arms.

    "There getting worse and worse. I can't handle this anymore I don't know what they mean and I don't know what I can do to stop them from haunting me." She whispered to him. Kyle kissed the top of her head and wiped her tears away. Michael looked concerned and Kyle pulled back from Maya and she wiped her face and smiled weakly at her friends.

    "Im ok guys, I've just been having these dreams, well there more like nightmares. I just... they scare me. I haven't been sleeping well because of them, I just fell asleep and had a really bad one. Im sorry if you guys were worried about me. Im fine." Maya said looking up at her friends and smiling weakly. They looked at her with worry, but nodded there heads. Maya leaned against Kyle and thought. // she couldn't let herself get so worked up about these nightmares. But what was she supposed to do when she had a daymare? Right Maya like you could expect yourself to stay calm. I'll just have to stay as calm as possible.// Kyle handed her a piece of his sandwich and she accepted thankfully.

    Maria cleared her throat and looked at Maya. "So what kind of nightmares are they because my mom has these special sleep capsules that you half all these different calming herbs, so like I could get you some, if you want. Or hey she just got these cool little eye pillow thingies that have violet and vanilla in them and they are sooo relaxing. Oh and you have to come check out this new herb, its this really long name but it is so cool it like just puts you into this peaceful state and you can just feel it working like it gives you these vibes." Maria went on and on about the different herbal remedies that could possibly help Maya and the rest of the group smiled at her. Maya giggled and Maria stopped looking at her oddly. "What???" Maria asked not quite sure what had been funny about the things meditation could do to ease tension and to purify your aura. The rest of the group looked at her and burst into laughter. Maria frowned at first but seeing Alex turning red like a tomato always got to her and she couldn't help but laugh. People were giving them odd looks, but they didn't care they laughed until they were crying. Maya wiped her eyes and sighed contently. She could handle anything as long as she had Kyle and her friends by her side.

    Kyle smiled down at her, and then remembered something. "Umm Maya, my dad finally realized that you are my girlfriend and he wants you to come eat dinner with us. I guess he was so caught up in his life that he didn't realize that you weren't coming over to study. So he wants you to come over tomorrow so that he can get to know you." Maya smiled and nodded at him. "Yeah of course its about time your dad got to know me. We can talk about how cute you must have been as a baby." Kyle narrowed his eyes and she laughed. "Im just kidding don't worry. We will have a very nice meal and we will enjoy ourselves." Kyle nodded and then began cleaning up his lunch mess. He stood up and threw the trash away before picking his backpack up and kissing Maya on the cheek. "I'll see you after school. I love you." Maya kissed him back and whispered "Olive juice." in his ear he smiled and walked towards his locker. Michael grabbed his stuff and squeezed her arm as he walked by. "Skye if you need to talk to me about anything Im here." Maya smiled at him wishing with all her heart that she could tell him all her secrets. He was the best brother she could ever wish for. She sighed and realized that the others had left and that she was alone. She silently picked up her bag and headed for the Hell that was known as Art.

    "Maya!!" Maya turned around and saw Maria running through the parking lot towards her. "Hey Maya Papaya, I was wondering if Michael and I could have tomorrow off? Please I have a surprise for him. I'll work Saturday instead." Maya smiled at her friend and nodded. "Maria, you can have tomorrow off. Just make sure your at the Crashdown first thing on Saturday, with Michael in tow." Maria smiled and hugged Maya "Your the best. Hey do you need a ride home???" Maya shook her head, "No Im waiting for Michael, I need to talk to him about helping me in art." Maria nodded and waved good bye and walked to her car. Maya watched her pull out of the parking lot and waved as the car drove out of sight. Maya looked around and noticed the park bench across the road from the school. She walked across the street and sat down to wait. Soon she saw a tall figure with porcupine hair walking towards her. She waved and smiled, he was definetly one of her favorite people. Suddenly Maya felt a pain in her stomach and leaned over. //Oh god this was the pain that had woken her up the night her mom had been killed, she had felt just before she her mom had died. The pain was always right, it always meant something bad was gonna happen. Oh god Michael.// Maya looked up just in time to see the car skid out of control and careen towards Michael.

    "MICHAEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Maya screamed running towards his still body. "Michael, look at me please." Maya begged her brother tears streaming down her face. "Go get Max. Hurry" Michael pleaded his eyes full of fear. Maya knelt beside him and looked into his eyes. She carefully moved her hand along his body keeping her eyes locked with his the entire time. He realized what she was doing and almost passed out but he knew that he had to keep eye contact. Maya felt the tear in his spine and quickly knitted the fibers inside of him until he was healed. Michael lied on the ground to catch his breathe. Maya ran to the car and examined the driver, the driver was unconscious but he appeared to be alright other then that. She breathed a sigh of relief but felt her heart seize up. //Oh god, Michael knew!!!! Oh god how could this happen. She couldn't have let him die, he had taken care of her when she had no one. Oh please let him understand please.// Maya squeezed her eyes shut and felt the tears squeeze through. She quickly returned to Michael and checked again to make sure she hadn't missed anything. He gazed at her in amazement as she fixed a small tear in his left leg. His sister was an alien, she had been an alien and he hadn't known it.

    "MAYA!!!!" Michael looked up and saw Kyle running towards them. He slid to the ground next to Maya and looked at the blood on the ground. "Oh thank god Maya you healed him, I was so scared I saw it from the football field. I was so scared for you both. Are you ok Michael??" Kyle held Maya who was sobbing softly into his shirt and looked at Michael with worry. "Yeah man Im fine. Maya why didn't you tell me you were an alien???" Michael asked trying to hide the hurt in his voice. Maya looked up at him in disbelief. "Alien??? How can I be alien?? I mean I thought that maybe I just had weird powers like I was a healer or something, but alien???" Maya asked in bewilderment. "Hey wait how do you know shes an alien??" Kyle asked trying to make sense of it all. Michael looked at the ground and replied gruffly.

    "Because Max, Isabelle and I are aliens." Maya shook her head and smiled to herself. //Maya you are really going insane, your hallucinating. There's no way he just said that you are an alien.// "Come on Michael I can't be an alien and neither can you. Aliens don't exist, everyone knows that." Maya said nervously. She looked at him waiting for him to tell her he was kidding but he just looked at her. "Maya Im not kidding, we were all found on the side of the road in the middle of the desert. We were in the 1947 crash, but we didn't come out of our pods until 1989 when we emerged in the form of 6 year old humans. You are one of us." Michael said quietly. Maya felt her head spin and she blacked out.

    "Maya, please wake up." Maya smelled the strong citrus extract and slowly opened her eyes. Kyle and Maria were staring down at her with concern. She slowly sat up with the help of Kyle and looked around. She was lying on the old couch in the back of the Crashdown. //How had she gotten here??? Why was she lying down???// Suddenly Maya's head was full of images of the things that had happened earlier. She felt herself start to collapse but Kyle caught her. Maria pushed her gently back onto the couch and smiled shakily at her. "You've had a hard day, just rest for a little bit." Maria said gently. Maya noticed for the first time the tear stains and dried mascara on her face. "Maya thank you. Oh god thank you, when I think about what would've happened if you hadn't been there." Maya looked startled and she frowned at Michael. Maria noticed and patted her shoulder "Michael told me how you yelled to him when the car swerved out of control, and that he jumped out of the way just in time." Maya nodded acting as if that was what had happened. "Yeah, I guess I freaked afterwards and passed out, it kinda brought back a lot of memories about my mom and her death." Maria nodded and wiped her face. Maya looked over at Michael but he avoided her eyes and looked at the ground. //God what would Maria do if she found out, he was hit by a car and he would have died if I hadn't healed him. I mean just the fact that he was almost hit by a car had her crying her eyes out. But why didn't he tell her??? She must know he is an alien, I mean he wouldn't let her belief he was normal.// Maya thought trying to organize all the separate thoughts shooting through her brain.

    Maria hugged her one last time before standing up and brushing her apron off. "Well Spaceboy, since you've had such a busy day, your dear friend Kyle is going to take your shift for you today. I want you and Maya to stay back here and rest, and if either one of you tries to do anything you will get in major trouble!!!" Maria said looking at them sternly. Maya smiled weakly and answered for both of them. "Don't worry Maria you couldn't drag either one of us off this couch if you had the whole football team pulling us." Maria smiled glad that her threat had worked and walked in to the diner. Maya turned to Michael and frowned. "Michael why didn't you tell her what REALLY happened??? I mean she must know that you Max and Izzie aren't from around here right??" Maya tried to read her brothers face but he had closed off. "Yes Skye Maria, Alex, and Liz know, I didn't tell them about you because I want you to do it. It isn't my decision to make, its your decision to pick who you trust. Im just sorry you picked Valenti over me." Maya bristled at the hurt in his voice and turned to say something but he continued. " I just wish you had told me, I could have explained things to you. I could help you figure out the nightmare." Maya looked confused and he sighed. "When you healed me a connection was made I saw your thoughts and your nightmare and your mom's death.." Maya looked at him praying he wasn't telling the truth. //Oh god he knows about mom!!!/
