Wednesday, April 30, 2003 9:41 am Dr. Finbar Skates Over Alaska Dear 9-foot-long daschunds, Good morning. THIS WEEK Drummer Pete was returned in error from his trip to New Zealand. He doesn't seem happy about the mistake. He hasn't been speaking much, and lately his face has turned a gentle shade of purple. But he can still hold a drumstick, and that's the important thing. This week we'll be rehearsing, but doing little else. LAST WEEK Apparently, there was a last week. We didn't really notice. THE DR. FINBAR COMPETITION Mk. IV First, a little recent history for our new subscribers. In the last incarnation of our competition series, we asked you to suggest a way to return tarpaulins to their proper place in the public's affections. The eventual winner received a mystery prize, which turned out to be 288 sugar packets. Once again, we will be offering a mystery prize, which, if anything - can you believe it - is probably even more useful & desirable than the last one! Now for the current incarnation... Attached to this email is a photo of our Sam. (I hope it's a picture of our Sam...I'm sure I deleted all those other, ah, photos...) This photo was taken at the Vibe Bar by ace photographer Dave Cheney (http://www.davecheney.com). We simply want you to provide a caption for this photo. Anything will do. Send your caption to this email address. Neil will then remove all identifying information and forward your entry to Pete for blind review; for obvious reasons, Sam won't be judging this one. Entries close two weeks from today. Good luck! That's it for this week. Hoping all your lifts go directly to the floor you want, The Dr. Finbar Trio
