Dr. Finbar Scales a Small Hill 


Hello people,

This week we are going to be uncommonly brief. As promised, however, 
the details for our big music-extravaganza this Friday evening have 
been finalised. Have a look at the attached invitation. There you 
will find all the info you need, including bios of each act to appear 
on the evening. It would certainly be great to see you there, along 
with any other unsuspecting innocents you manage to gather up.

NEIL'S PHD-PASSING PARTY/SAM'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

Where: The lounge of The Old Colonial Inn, 127 Brunswick St., Fitzroy,
ph. 9417 2711.

When: Friday, February 21, 7.30 pm until late.

Food:  Counter meals are available for the hungry.

Dress: Please wear one.

Who can come: You, your friends, your loved ones, and any detritus that
you pick up off the street along the way.  No animals please.


THE LIVE MUSIC - A ROUGH SCHEDUE & BIOS OF ACTS

8.45 pm  THE J-MAN

Jeremy Richards will front the mike first and play some of his originals
and (in all likelihood) some semi-obscure covers.  In his spare time,
Jeremy composes concertos and string quartets.  He is thinking about
writing an opera soon.

9.20 pm  SUASH

Ash will play guitar while Su sings and plays sax.  Their setlist is top
secret, and is guaranteed to be incendiary.

9.40 pm THE ALTAMONTS (formerly The Rolling Stones Fiasco)

The Altamonts observe three rules when writing songs:

a) No song may be longer 3 minutes in duration.
b) Each song must have a maximum of 4 chords
c) No minor chords are permitted.

10.35 pm  ROHAN AND RUSSELL

Russell is a formidable songwriter.  He is probably the closest thing Neil
has to a songwriting and guitar-playing mentor (but please don't hold this
against him…).

Rohan is King of the Keyboard.  He was recently involved in a Paul McCartney
tribute band whose Wings were clipped early, and never really managed to get
Off the Ground.  Rohan attributes the demise of the band to greed and stupidity.
