Acts start between 8 and 8.30. As always, we'd love to have the pleasure of your company. LAST WEEK Last week we played at the Ninth Ward. But there's no need for us to say anything about how we went. That's because someone else has done it for us! You can find a review of our performance at http://craigsblog.diaryland.com/020918_11.html, but for your convenience we've reproduced it below. Make of it what you will... 2002-09-18 - 8:11 p.m. Last Night at the 9th Ward I was at the Ninth Ward last night for their open mic. I did four songs: Gonna Be Somebody, Train to My Heart (with harmonica), Back Porch and ending with Panel Van. The audience last night was about 30 people which was down from 90 the last time I played. Other artists who performed last night was a duo both playing acoustic guitars, then a guy with a Rhodes electric piano, who played some haunting tunes of his own, and after that was a band called "Dr Finbar's Trio"" a three piece featuring two guys originally from Birmingham, England. They were quite good, their first song reminded me a bit like Jimi Hendrix, the second song reminded me of late 70s/early 80s band the Cars. The other songs were a bit Brit-pop in style. I think they will do well at a place like "Weekender". After me a guy in a beanie was playing some of his own songs on an electric guitar whilst I talked to Sam from Dr Finbar. Then I left so I can catch the 10.15pm train home. *********** That's all for now. We hope your life is proceeding roughly according to plan. Sam, Pete, Neil.
