Thursday, December 19, 2002 2:04 pm Subject Dr. Finbar's Christmas Edition Season's Greetings. Although we have more or less shut up shop for the year, we thought it would be fun (for us) to send you one last email. We've been receiving a lot of unsolicited mail in recent days entreating us to have a wonderful Christmas (and also to buy some stuff). So, it occurred to us that we ought to send you a message entreating you to have a wonderful Christmas (and also asking you to buy some stuff). Unfortunately, our merchandising arm hasn't really hit its straps yet, so the Dr. Finbar fitness videos and memory-improvement tapes will just have to wait for next Christmas. However, in the hope that giving you something for free this Christmas will induce sufficient guilt to prompt you to buy one of our fitness videos next Christmas, we offer you the following gift. We have penned you a Christmas song. You can download the audio by following this link: http://www.geocities.com/friskylichen/FinbarChristmas.mp3 This song was written exclusively for subscribers to this list. No-one else on the planet knows about it (naturally), and it is not advertised on our website. Just so that you know what you are letting yourself in for by downloading, the lyrics are reproduced below. THE DR. FINBAR CHRISTMAS SONG Dead on your feet when the cock starts to crow Crawl down the street with your head bent down low Pull back the sheets and your bed's filled with snow It's Christmas time again. Look for a robin, all you see is a bat That boring old man drops in for a chat You fall on the cat as it falls on a rat It's Christmas time again. Lay me down low, Lay me down low where the dead presents go. Look at the pretty young things on the box Cunning, conniving and sharp as a fox Smelling as fresh as yesterday's socks It's Christmas time again. He's making a list, you're wrecking it twice You fill up his sleigh with vermin and lice It's Christmas time again. Lay me down low, Lay me down low where the dead presents go. Lay me down low, Lay me down low with the spent mistletoe. Lay me down low, Lay me down low. It's Christmas time again. We don't expect our song to be making an appearance at Carols by Candlelight any time soon. But in the interim, why not play our song at your office Christmas party? We're sure it will set the appropriate mood. On a more serious note, we really do hope you have a great Christmas and New Year (and that you remember to buy one of our memory- improvement tapes). We'd like to thank very much all of you who have come to see us play this year. We'll be starting up again some time in January, so you'll probably hear from us again in a month's time. Until then, The Dr. Finbar Trio.
