BRIEF SHADOWING EXPERIENCE NOTES: EOCS7450 University of Georgia, Freda Doster
PRINCIPAL: *Three consultations with scheduling committee working on special education schedules. * Classroom walk-throughs at all grade levels. Focus on implementation of Learning Focused Schools (LFS) strategeis during classroom observations and evaluations. * Discussion of Learning Focused Schools checklist and expecations. * Teacher conference to discuss schedule. * Teacher conference regarding parent concern. * Teacher conference regarding personnel issues and contractural obligations. * Parent conference regarding teacher/student confrontation. * Meeting with custodial staff. * Meet with teachers to discuss alternative placement for student.
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL (1): * Working on collaborative schedules. * Consulted with principal throughout the process. * Exhibited an understanding of master schedules. * Exhibited ability to organize information. * Exhibited ability to disseminate information to colleagues. * Exhibited positive staff. relationships. * Exhbitied an understanding of staff relationships and staff's reluctance to change.
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL (2): * Meeting with school leadership team. * Seemed very emotional and had strong feelings about issues discussed. * Listened to suggestions from other memebers of leadership team. * Some concerns about communications with staff. * Exhibited concerns regarding parent issue and had some difficulty accepting groups concensus on how to handle the issue. * Working to build positive relationship with staff. * Seemed to have several ideas/suggestions for program changes. |
