Extended Planning Day

Collaborative Planning with Support Services Staff

 

One of the school initiatives for Monroe Primary School is the implementation of Learning Focused Schools strategies. In an effort to better implement these strategies throughout the support services areas (art, music, pe, counseling, media, technology), the support services staff met during and extended planning day to create a universal lesson plan template. This lesson plan template includes the critical areas discussed in the learning focused model but was also fine tuned so that it met the individual needs of each support services team member. The following is the lesson plan template implemented by the school counselor. This lesson plan template is used in the writing of classroom guidance lessons.
