Faculty Meeting Agenda

1. Video (10 minutes)
Richard DuFour’s “How to Develop a Professional Learning Community: Passion and Persistence”
 
2. Discuss Summary Points to tie-up all of the book studies we have done (5 minutes)
 
3. Introduction to "rituals and routines" concept (5 minutes)
 
4. Collaborative Small Group (15 minutes)
Place teachers in collaborative groups with a representative from each area (k, 1, 2, Fine Arts, Department of Exceptional Education, Supportive Instruction). Each group should generate acceptable norms for behavior related to school climate in terms of "rituals and routines". 
 
5. Whole Group Activity (5 minutes)
Whole group will look at the lists of norms generated by each group and patterns and trends will be identified. 
 
6. Collaborative Small Group (10 minutes)
Each group will then take the "common norms"and generate a list of best practices which would help establish these norms.
 
7. Whole Group Activity (5-8 minutes)
Whole group will evaluate best practices list and prioritize strategies from most feasible to least feasible.
 
8. Summarize activity (3-5 minutes)
