Ok. Now that we've all had our filll or turkey, duck, or if you feel like splurging, turducken, as well as all the fixings, we're all ready to move on to the post-Thanksgiving festivities known as holiday gift shopping (I'm being secular here people!). Now we all know that it is better to give than to recieve, but this holiday season we should all take a look at the real miracles that make this holiday season so special. Is it the miracle that brought Jesus to Earth on 25. December? That's one, but it is not the most important one here (Remember! I'm being secular here. I can't favor any one religion.). Could it be how the Jews managed to get light from the lamp for eight straight days? A good one, but not the one I was thinking of (Once again, this commentary is not secular.). The miracle I am talking about refers to the day after Thanksgiving, better known as "Black Friday". The miracle I am talking about is the fact that every year, I get a good parking space at the mall when all those who arrived before me had to settle for the back of the lot. Is it luck? Possibly, but for the sake of the holiday season, let's just call it another holiday miracle.
There is another miracle to the holidays as well. It is the fact that every year I set a new personal best for gift shopping. I'm down to less than a day now. Could I bring it to less than an hour next year? Possibly, but I'd rather take more than an hour. Anyway, those are the miracles that the holidays bring. Do the holidays bring famlies together? Probably not. Yes my family is in the same building for the holidays, but are we talking to each other? Not likely. Anyway, from all of us at Dr. Ew's Little Piece of HELL! (Ok. Just me.), we wish you the best of holiday seaasons, and keep trying for that good parking space at the mall.
