| It's that time of the year. It's that time when everyone is on winter break and has a job. Now we've all had our crappy jobs, and we all know what it's like. Your job probably sucks, and you hate the people you have to deal with.because they do not care for anyone else but themself. Here are a few tips to getting over it. First, we all know your job sucks. We all know that a job can have you do stuff that you do not want to, and you will wind up doing it, no matter how much you hate it, and no matter how much you complain and try to get someone else to do it. To get around these things, put them off until you absoultely have to do them. You do not need to do the chores until the end of the day, and thcstomers should come first, so it's alright if you put the bad stuff off. Second, getting up to go to work is always a struggle, so pulling an all-nighter if you have a really early shift never hurts. Your paycheck does not depend on the quality of your work. It is determined by how much time it's been between punching in and punching out. Your boss is more concerned with having help than with how good a job the help does. Third, you will have yo deal with customers. No matter how important they think they are, they are no better tham you or me. The other thing with customers is that no matter who they are or what they want, you are the thing keeping them from getting it (Remember this! It will come in handy later.). So regardless of what they think of you, they have to show you respect. Fourth, your job is only temporary. If you don't like it, get a new job. If you don't like that job, keep looking. Fifth, your boss probably does not care about you, especially if you are working in a big chain store such as Wal-Mart. Your boss cares if you get hurt on the job because then they are short a person, and they have to pay workers' compensation, but other than that, they really don't give a crap about how you're doing. Next, thereare little things known as labor unions. They have their advantages, such as mandatory raises, benefits, protection from termination, etc., but they also have their disadvantages, such as strikes. Granted we all hate going to work, but would you like to lose all hope of working because someone else got pissed off? I wouldn't. I'd keep working. Also, labor unions take out some of your pay, regardless of how long you'll be working there Back to the customers. You are what is keeping them from getting what they want, and a lot of customers expect to get their way. Granted there are nice customers (They're usually the fat ones.), but for the most part, the customers expect the item that they want to be on sale, and they expect to be wrong on absolutely nothing, and if they are ever wrong or make a mistake, it is never their fault. It is always someone else's fault. Lastly, there is one and only one conclusion that can result from working, and thatis that working sucks. There is no way around it. You are not always going to like your job. It's bound to suck sooner or later. |
