I think you bring up a very good point.  Rarely do students  ever take a class on handling money or paying bills and having games  that can teach these lessons can help a kid out.  Not only does it help  kids learn, but they are having fun learning because they are playing a  game.  The other games you mention are very good examples and do help  children learn and achieve greatness.  The one weak point of this  argument though is that there is probably not a large percentage of kids who play those games.  Give examples of how the games you show, Final Fantasy and Zelda, help students to learn and achieve greatness.  I would just think you  would have a better argument is you use games that are very popular  witht the general population of video gamers.
Some of the highlights include exposing students to technological advances. This comes through the computer and science labs and resource centers. I personally feel that the biggest aspect of Drexel that helps one achieve greatness is its co-operative education program. This provides students with hands on experience in the profession of their choice. This helps better skills and knowledge within a certain field and prepares them for the "real-world." The experience places them at the top of the list of candidates for open positions because they already have plenty of experience in the working world.  Another highlighted point in the introduction to the University is how students are taught to be responsible citizens and recognize the need to give back to the community. One of the freshman requirements is 5 hours of community service. Even though it is not a lot, the feeling that one gains when helping others is overwhelming. The University also attemtps to create "well-rounded students" through arts and humanitites. There are various art galleries througout campus. Our founder, Anthony J. Drexel had a goal of "incorporating art, culture, and technology in education," and through all this helps create well-rounded students. All this information was gathered in a welcome letter by President Papadakis, therefore there are the main points that Drexel stresses to achieve with each student. From here I plan to interview students and get their opinion of how Drexel shapes them into a better person and achieving "greatness." I feel that it wil be important to make sure to interview a few students who have had or are currently partaking in co-op so I can get a good description of the benefits of such a great opportunity.
The media criticizes the basketball for their lack of effort and fundamentals.  However the players play as much basketball as ever.  They do the work in the weight rooms, they shoot around for fun, and they do all the training basketball.  A main aspect that they are forgetting is the basic fundamentals of the game.  The reason people lack here is because of failure to change.  Instead of changing what they need to they strive for the representations of greatness.  "Failure is not fatal, although failure to change might be." There was a young boy named Mathew Glynn, he was not the best basketball player in the world although his work ethic was marvelous.  Coming through high school he didn't have the best shooting percentage or anything of that caliber.  While he was in college he would run on the tread mill everyday, he would be in the weight room all the time, and he would shoot a thousand shots a day with each.  He was successful because of his ability to change.  This is the main point of the article.  In order to achieve greatness it is important to have the ability to change in order for the good.  Mathew ended up being the MVP in the division III league in California.

"Failure is not fatal. But failure to change might be" What I get from this is, you are not necessarily going to be great right away, this is no problem. However, if you are not great initially, you have an opportunity to change your practices. If you do not make the proper changes, or if you make no changes at all, you will never achieve greatness.

The points on greatness made in this article concerning achievements are interesting. They mention that striving for the best will get you your best and failure to change is a fatal error. However, I disagreed with the overall message of the article. I do not believe that achieving greatness guarantees success or survival. Anyone can be brought down or bring down themselves once in that position. Nothing is final.

Greatness takes effort. It is not possible to be natural good at something. Everyone can improve their skills. It is an interesting article because it touches on how players are criticized for not working hard. But in reality they do work really hard, a lot harder than they expect to. Players have to constantly be practicing in order to improve or at least to keep their skills from declining. Without hard work greatness will never be achieved.

Work ethic is something that takes drive and determination and is fueled by motivation. When you work at something hard enough you can become great at it. I think most that college basketball players were probably stars on their high school team so they have the mentality that they have already achieved greatness. So when they get to college they think that they do not have to work as hard. But when reality hits them they are completely unprepared for the harsh truth that, with greatness comes?s sacrifice and dedication. This article shows the truth about greatness, and how most players don?t achieve greatness because of their small work ethic. I think it is good for many people to read not just basketball players.
Greatness suits him Reggie Bush today is one of the greatest players to come out of College history people are saying.  He has come up from so many upsetting points in his life and yet he still shows greatness on the field.  His biological father left him early in mothers pregnancy.  During football games he writes 619 which is the area code of San Diego, this he says remind him of where he comes from.  This story is just about a small time boy who made it big.  I feel this story is relevant to the side of greatness because it shows no matter how broken down someone?s earlier life was, it is still possible to pursuer your dream.  Reply 1 Amar Brambhatt I believe that Reggie Bush has worked his way up the path of greatness.  He was from humble backgrounds.  He was raised by a single parent during a crucial section of his life and he still came out on top.  He gets heckled for taking the time to wear nice clothes.  If I didn?t have good clothes as a child, I would definitely wear the best clothes that money could buy if I became a millionaire.  Reggie Bush went from an impoverished child to a top pick running back.  His hard work and skill have definitely helped him achieve greatness.    Reply 2  Anjum  Reggie Bush achieved greatness at the collegiate level while playing football for USC by winning the Heisman Trophy along with a National championship. He also shows greatness by being a humanitarian for victims that were affected by Hurricane Katrina. Bush has built numerous new football fields for different high schools in New Orleans. In the NFL he demonstrated true composure as a running back while led the Saints to the NFC Championship.

Sports have been around for a long time now.  People have a different view on achieving greatness in sports.  Some people feel that achieving greatness is like becoming the next Michael Jordan, Brett Farve, or Reggie Bush.  Other people feel they have can reach greatness by just working hard.  A lot of people take sports very personally; they incorporate it into their everyday lives.  For example an amateur high school football player may work out two times a day which is not uncommon.  This person may believe he can reach greatness by putting 110% on the field. In order to reach greatness in sports its important to work hard.  The person may be 5 feet 5 inches tall and one of the greatest basketball players ever.  It is because of his dedication that he reached greatness in basketball.  A lot of people feel they will be great in sports just because of their size or because it is inherited.  This is not true it is  important to work harder than ever though possible to achieve greatness in sports.
Greatness is a noun defined as ?the property possessed by something or someone of outstanding importance or eminence? (www.dictionary.com).  It can also be termed as a ?concept that is heavily dependent on a person?s perspective and biases? and used when judging a person?s or object?s superiority (www.wikipedia.com).  When determining if another person has achieved greatness then it is at the discretion and opinion of the observer who will formulate their own perspective.  However, when it comes to achieving individual greatness at one?s own standards, there are many options to refer to in order to gain such personal status.  By analyzing movies, video games, sports, and college, we were able to compile multiple sources and interviews that demonstrate the affect each of these aspects have in helping one achieve a sense of well-rounded greatness in their life. We have taken everyday activities, hobbies, and education and analyzed them to determine the extent to which they help an individual attain greatness.  Movies, as morbid as some may seem, hold inspirational meanings and lessons which can be very beneficial to the viewer.  Many modern video games are used as teaching devices for children, especially those with special needs, and help them achieve a sense of importance.  Sports are a prime example of achieving greatness.  The time and effort that goes into practices and games can only help one become better at what they are trying to do.  If they perform to high standards in comparison to their average level of play, then they have attained individual greatness.  Education, especially during the college years, is a prime example of a tool that if utilized correctly can help one attain success.  If one takes advantage of the right opportunities in their school, grasps as much of they can from the college experience to make it enjoyable, all combined with working hard, then educational experiences can help one achieve greatness at a level that will help them in the future.  Everyone has come into contact with these different activities at one point during their lifetime.  If one takes advantage of what they each have to offer and work hard with each, then in the end one can achieve a personal, well-rounded feeling of greatness.
For me, there is one and only one thing that allows me to succeed here at college for my freshmen year and that is quiet time. If I wasnt able to shut my dorm door, put on headphones and do my work then I would not be able to succeed. Then, once I get my work done I am able to relax and experience the other part to college, the fun, out of control insanity. College is a time when you really find yourself; a time where there are no parents to tell you what to do, and no one to stop you from trying new things. This is why college is going to be the best years of my life. I can find the true me, find my niche, and how I can succeed. College is a time in ones life, in which they find themselves and grow into the person that they want to be. I think that being a student here at Drexel will give me exactly that opportunity. Drexel has many aspects that make it easy to succeed as a college student, academically and socially, and as a person. I think that being in a college town, such as University City, and being in the city of Philadelphia at the same time, is a big part of Drexel that makes going to college here so great. More specifically, I am a part of a sorority and Greek life, however when I want to just go into the city for dinner or to shop one night I have that opportunity. I think that that other social option is part of what makes me more independent and makes my college experience more fun. I think a great time can be as simple as just hanging out with my friends in the dorm, to going to a frat party or formal, to even going to a nice dinner in the city at a Steven star restaurant. Although there is a lot of work that needs to be done and it takes a lot of dedication and commitment in order to do well in college, I think that when one balances the work with the social opportunities that I mentioned before, it is easy to succeed and have fun here at Drexel. College is known to be the four best year of your life. It is a time to grow up and experience the real world, socially and academically. Drexel gives its students many opportunities for the typical college experience. While classes are challenging and involve commitment, the social aspect has endless possibilities. I feel I have so many choices to keep myself occupied, between exploring the city, hanging out at the frats or relaxing at the sorority house. The city has been one of the best aspects of Drexel University. There are millions of stores and restaurants to shop and dine at. The everlasting exploring is captivating and exciting. I truly enjoy being in the environment of a college campus and in the real world as well. Both the academics and social scene at Drexel together are a winning combination. College is a time where students are really on their own for the first time in their life. They have many more freedoms as well as responsibilities. These freedoms are amazing and make freshman year truly fun and great. Though during freshman year you make many important choices, the pressure of job searching and making life decisions are not there. College is also a time where you can meet new people. In college you can also get involved in different activities that you are actually interested in. Drexel gives me the opportunity to exploit and experience an urban lifestyle while at the same time experience a small, tight knit community. I have personal relationships with faculty and students. I have the privilege of mentoring a number of students and members of the community, guys like Mike Kolodesh, who obviously need some sort of advisor in life, other than a bottle in a brown bag. The truth is, I feel like the greatest part of Drexel, and the part that allows me to succeed and grow is my exposure to the people around me that continually teach me about living life to the fullest. And most of all, Drexels co-op program really makes you appreciate the beauty of college life by exposing you to real life job expectations. You really begin to understand how astounding it is to have society only expect from you to learn and better yourself. Now is the time you define who you are. When you show up here, you are a block of clay. When you leave, you are a sculpture. Some leave as something resembling Michelangelo. Some leave looking like Bob Marley. But whatever you are, its entirely up to you and that is the beauty: beauty in creation. I love college and I love Drexel. Everything that I have ever wanted to do in high school, but was too afraid of the consequences I done here at Drexel. I have smoked pot for the first time, drank 16 shots of vodka shortly before passing out, and slept in many random beds with even more random females. College is the last bit of freedom that we have before we are seemingly kicked in the ass by the real world. After this we have to get jobs, raise families, pay off student loans, and all the other important parts of life. I have no worries right now short of deciding what I am eating for dinner and how many weeks late I am going to hand in my English paper. I have a 9 AM lecture that I dont give a shit about, so I dont go. Why should I go? College is about choice, and I choose not to go, and I choose to do what the fuck I want, when the fuck I want. This is why my freshmen year is great. Ever since Ive arrived at Drexel Ive been told to Feel the Fire, and frankly I have no clue what that actually means. Possibly it is a way for Drexel to get me involved in the school, to fully experience the so called college life. Now what does that actually mean, is it the view of the glamorized movies of Old School or is it the life of a college student imprisoned by the work and books around him? For me the college experience and Drexel has been in the words of a friend, An Awesome Time. Gone are the dramas and stereotypes of high school, instead we are met with throngs of students trying to hang onto the last bit of freedom until they graduate and enter the workforce. This lack of inhibition has allowed for the new lifestyle I have created for myself during my tenure at Drexel. I start my day usually in the depths of night in which I see the sun rise, but never the sun set.
