The SWVADA Spring Show was quite a success for my student Courtney Greco and for the horses which I train.

Congradulations to Courtney Greco who has received her Bronze Medal.  She received her final score at the SWVADA Spring Show with over 70%.  She also earned Grand Crue's USDF Third Level Performance Certificate which requires 10 scores of over 60% at a minimium of four different competitions under at least four different judges.

Avondale also had a successful show placing 1st in both his 1st level classes and taking home the 1st level Championship.
Moud had his 3rd level debut.  His 3rd level 2 test scored 69.+% which I am quite happy with.
Odyssey had his dressage debut at Training Level and was very good and well behaved.  I need to check scores from tests and placings.
Shapiro was calm and I had a good Grand Prix ride but had technical errors costing us points. But it is a warm up for Raleigh which is in one week.

Capital Dressage Classic - May 29 thru June 1

Shapiro had a super Grand Prix ride placing 2nd with a 65.+% and also achieving his USDF Grand Prix Performance Certificate.  We received a 8 for our passage work and 7's for the piaffe and transitions.
Grand Crue showed 4th level on Friday and placed 2nd with a 65.% and Odyssey placed 2nd in his training level test with a 65.+%, Moud placed 3rd in his 3rd level test.

Saturday was extremely hot and humid.  Grand Crue did his 1st PSG which went fairly good, we had technical errors which costs points but overall it was a smooth test.  With Moud I decided to ride only one test with the heat and he rode good placing 6th.  Odyssey's first test went smooth placing but he decided to leave the arena on the second test surprising me as well as himself.

Stay tuned....more to come

The upcoming Show Season is upon us and we are underway getting prepared.

I am beginning a new adventure with a series of educational videos.  The first video planned is a braiding video.  This should begin within the next month.  Updates will be made when we begin.

I have also received three halters from Okeden Bay Equine Products Incorporated.  These are prototypes and I like them very much.  I will post photos soon in the photo gallery.  They come in many colors and have velcro safety release.  They are very adjustable to make a nice fit on the horses.

Attended the USDF Convention and Awards Banquet.  With three different horses, I received my USDF Gold and Bronze Freestyle Bar.  Shapiro received Reserve Champion at Grand Prix in the Oldenburg Breeders Society.  Moud received 1st place for USDF All Breed Award in 2nd level Freestyle and 2nd at 2nd Level in the Friesian Division.

I look forward to a exciting 2008.  Along with my horse Shapiro, I have several horses who are in training which will be competiting this year.  Arthur Kottas will be returning in July and I plan to ride with him again this year.

It has been quite a long time since I updated this website.   Many things have happend since the last update.  I had a successful season showing in Florida.  Shapiro placed 2nd in both the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Freestyle at Wellington Classic Dressage Challenge.  Grand Crue made his debut at 3rd level placing consistently in the top of his classes winning many of them.

Recently I competed at Dressage at Lexington with four horses.  Moud (Friesian Gelding) owned by Karen Waldron placed 1st in two classes and 2nd in two classes at 2nd level.  Grand Crue made a debut at 4th level showing two classes, winning one Fourth level class with a 68% and placing 5th in the other.  He also competed in 3rd level Freestyle placing 2nd with a 66.458.  Also competing was my own horse Shapiro in the Grand Prix placing twice 3rd.  Avondale made his debut at his 1st recognized competition at training level.  We placed 3rd and 4th with scores of 66% and 69%.  Very proud of him for his 1st competition.

Arthur Kottas returned to clinic at Ashanti Farm where I rode both Shapiro and Moud.  We had a wonderful weekend and educational for all who attended.

Great news!  I am now being sponsored by Bionicare.  This is a company which designed a unit which stimulated circulation on horses.  I have been using the unit on Shapiro with amazing results.  They are making a new protype which I will be taking to Florida with me.  Anyone intested in learning more about this product, please contact me.

Also, the BLM Finals were quite successful.  Of the 10 classes which I competed, Shapiro placed 3rd and 4th in the two Grand Prix tests, Moud placed 1st (2nd level Test 3), 2nd (in the 2nd level freestyle), 4th (2nd level Test 3) and 5th in the BLM 2nd Level Championship Class.  Grand Crue placed 1st (2nd level Test 4) and 4th in (2nd level test 4),  Elfieprinz placed 4th in the 2nd - 4 open class.  It was a bit windy at the show but all went well.

Now I am preparing Shapiro, Grand Crue and Moud for the Florida Shows.  In October, we have the BLM Finals which all three horses are qualified and will compete.  When possible, I will train with Bruno at Ashanti Farm in Charlottesville, VA.     I am also actively seeking a sponsor for the winter selection trials.

I now have my 2006 show schedule complete till July.  Shapiro is training great and I plan to compete him at the GP level this season.

7/20/05

My show schedule has been hectic but very successful.  I received my USDF Gold Medal this past weekend.  Shapiro also scored a 66.375% in my GP freestyle.  I moved Moud up to 2nd level and he placed 1st and two 2nds.  He also placed 2nd in the 1st level freestyle with a 74.375%.  Lia and Gjalt also competed placing 1st through 5th in many classes.

It has been a busy winter as I had Shapiro in Central Virginia so I could obtain help on a regular basis.  We were training with Bruno Gruber at Ashanti Farm.  We left January 4th and returned April 28th.  I traveled to Charlottesville to train five days a week.  I did have a apartment on the farm which enabled me to stay over night several days a week.

Shapiro and I will be competing at the Grand Prix Level this year.  Our first competition in at Morven Park this coming weekend, May 21 and 22.  I will also be competing one of Karen Waldron's friesians Moud at 1st level.  Last year was his first year out and we competed at Training Level winning 5 tests at our first competition.  He obtained his USDF Performance Certificate at Training Level.
