| Originally a private asylum, Wonford House was designed by W.F Cross as a replacement to the institution housed in Bowhill Manor. It took it's first patients in 1869 and is still active, having been taken over at some point by the NHS. Exeter's new general hospital now stands behind Wonford House, making it look and feel rather crowded. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
