The Grand Theatre used to be in Union Street, Plymouth, but it was damaged in the blitz and ended up being knocked down in the 60s. This is next door to where the Grand Theatre used to stand. At first I assumed it was just a pub named for it's location, but I've since heard it referred to as the Grand Theatre Hotel. The New Palace Theatre which still stands in Union Street had a hotel attatched, so this could be something similar, for theatre goers coming in from out of town. I will try and find out more. |
