The plan of Exminster Hospital is very interesting, with ward blocks radiating out from a cresent shape with the admin block in the centre. See an arial view here to get a better idea of it. I believe this is an example of an older plan that was considered out of date by the mid 19th century.
The hospital closed in 1985 and has been redveloped into housing. All other buildings on the site were demolished except for the chapel.
