Digby Hospital
This hospital was built in 1886 as the Exeter City Lunatic Asylum, to cater for the city's mentally ill (The Devon County Lunatic Asylum at Exminster took patients from all around the region) It was designed by Robert Stark Wilkinson. I'm not sure when it became known as Digby Hospital, but it closed for good in 1987. Since then most of the  hospital has been demolished, with the remainder being converted into housing and surrounded by a brand new estate on it's former land. Asylums in other parts of the country have also fallen prey to this trend.
One of the towers, visible above the new houses which surround what's left of the asylum.
The back the administration and ward blocks, hardly recognisable.
This was opposite the ward block, I'm not sure what it was.
