The officer that was in charge of the drug bust was promoted. I'm not sure to what, but it was a big deal to all the papers for a week or two. His face was on most of the local magazines because of his "diligence in cleaning up the town." I wasn't mentioned, but that was fine with me. City Hall did give me a little compensation for my deed and awarded me a check for a hundred dollars. They thanked me for being such a concerned citizen.
As I walked down the steps of City Hall with my hundred-dollar check in my pocket, I couldn't stop wondering. Was I a Judas to Trevor? Could he ever be like Christ? I doubt it. If anyone was Christ, it was I. I was the one that followed the law. I rendered unto Caesar what was Caesar's. I am the one walking the straight and narrow. Trevor, he's the one that's Judas. He sold us all out with his lifestyle. He was tearing down our society. Someone had to stop him. I only did what's right.
