This website
marks the commencement of our journey to Cambodia... Join us in this
journey. Together, we’ll make a difference to the lives of Cambodians! We are a 20 member volunteer team with
Habitat for Humanity Singapore (HfH Singapore). Come this May (19th
May – 25th May 2008), we will be heading to Cambodia to build a house for a needy family (1st team sent from Singapore). The team comprises of volunteers from all backgrounds and nationalities,
including Singaporeans, Australians and Indians. We are now in the midst of
raising funds for this project, and seek your assistance in helping us meet
the targeted amount of S$20,000. A large percentage of the S$20,000 fund
will go to the Habitat Revolving Fund (HRF) of the host country – Cambodia, in the present situation. Funds from the HRF, however, do not go toward the
specific house the team builds during their trip. Rather, money from the
HRF will be used to cover the cost of building (in terms of building
materials, tools and manpower) more houses for the under-privileged
residents of the host country. The HRF thus ensures and
provides for continuity in the programme. Approximately 12% of the $20,000
will be expended in administration costs. All funds raised by our
volunteers directly benefit the needy families in Cambodia. Volunteers’ expenses are entirely self-funded.
