Chapter
One: The Beginning
The
Charles Xavier Academy for Gifted Youngsters has grown within the years.
Students old and new have come and gone. Many have stayed behind and help teach
the new comers. Or others have gone and lived their lives happily as they
can.
It
has been five years since the battle with Magneto. Five years since Professor Charles Xavier, Scott Summers, Jean
Grey and Ororo Munroe have lost a friend, Logan, as he left to go up North to
find information on his past. Five years since the X-Men were left with the
young Rogue under their care, as a student and friend.
Throughout
the five years that had passed. Rogue
has grown not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Her time spent at the Academy had made her
wiser, stronger, and lonelier.
Each
X-Men have tried to make it best for her.
They all have gotten a bit close, but not like Rogue had gotten with
Wolverine. They have become attached to
her.... as well as other students, for instance Bobby "Iceman" and
Remy LeBeau otherwise known as Gambit.
Chapter
Two: The News
"Professor
Xavier?"
Charles
Xavier tuners around in his hover chair so that he is facing Jean Grey. "Yes Jean?"
She
smiled softly. "Professor ...is it true?"
Even
with knowing what she thinking, he asked her anyway. "If what's true Jean?"
Jean
sighs to herself and swallowed as she started to speak up. "Is it true
that Logan is coming back today?"
Xavier
smiled fondly at her and nodded, as he turned his hover chair around. And started to move away leaving a daze Jean
Grey in the middle of the hallway.
Jean
snaps out of her thoughts and jogged to catch up with the professor. She then started to walk beside him. "Should we tell Rogue?"
"No....not
yet...I don't know how she would react to it?" He sighed. "It’s been awhile.... I just don't
know. And I don't want her running off again...."
Jean
nodded in understanding. "Yes professor."
"Besides...I
don't know if he truly is coming.... I just received a letter a few days ago
from him...he mentions he'll drop by for a small visit. I don't want to give
her false hopes."
"I
understand professor..."
Xavier
smiled at her and both nodded at each other.
Chapter
Three: The Talk
The
big rose garden that surround the Academy bloom within every year. The red roses were all kept perfectly. And
two friends stood around chatting.
Bobby
sighs as he looked at Gambit from where he stood. "Remy don't look at me
like that! I like Rogue...."
Gambit
just looked at him like he was nuts or something and leans back on the wall.
"Mah names Gambit...not Remy.... and ah don't like ya flirtin' wit
her...."
Bobby
rolled his eyes at him, "Gambit...Remy.... whatever...besides you can't
stop me from being with Rogue.
Gambit
raises and eyebrow and stands right in front of Bobby. "Ah really now, are
we gettin' fiesty now?"
Bobby
sighed again and responded. "Look mother I know you love Rogue and don't
want her hurt...but that’s for her to choose not you...so if you would you move
out of my way...I need to see Rogue...”
Gambit
smirked and looked straight at Bobby. "Look Ice cube...Ah move when ah
feel like too...And if ah say ya don't see my chere ah mean it....”
Bobby
glares at Gambit and hisses. "Look.... Magician boy...why don't you go
back and play with your little cards...and show the students your little
tricks..."
Gambit
smirks again. "Ah why ah just show ya... " And pulls out a card
filled with kinetic energy and holds it in his hand as he and Bobby stand in
fighting mode.
But
a loud voice stops them. "ENOUGH!" Scott Summers yelled at them as he
walked up to them. He shook his head and reprimanded them, "You two stop
acting as small children. This is no
place for any kind of arguments between friends..."
Bobby
looked at him as if he lost it.
"Friends? Yeah right!"
"Bobby
I said enough. Both of you go to your rooms."
"We're
not children Scott..."
Gambit
smirked at the scene. " Well are ya sure that maybe one of us ain't
one..."
Scott
looked at him then at Bobby and sigh.
"Both...to your rooms...NOW!"
The
two sighed and headed back into the Academy both glaring at each other.
Chapter
Four: Memories
Darkness.
Jet-black....
Feeling
it surround you....
But
seeing or hearing nothing.
My
life is nothing but a routine. I get up, plaster a smile on my face, and
practice out my studies, my powers. Keep the 'smile' on my face, letting
everyone around me see me as a happy young girl.
My
fingers unconsciously play with the chain around my neck. Feeling the soft metal between my
fingers. I lift my hands around my
slender neck, hearing the snap of the chain, feeling it slip off onto my hands
into a small bundle of silver.
I
look down at my hand, seeing the silver shine a bit brightly as the light of
the lamp reflects on it. After all
those years, this precious treasure, that holds part of my life, part of my
happiness, my love, is still in perfect condition.
My
finger tips brush lightly over the engraved letters. My lips spell them out
loud as I feel them. WOLVERINE. Oh how
I missed hearing that word. But everyone in this damn Academy rarely brings him
up. Even though I know they all hold him dear to their hearts, like I do,
day-by-day, night-by-night.
Wolverine.
Logan. Wolverine. I love how both names rolls off the tip pf my tongue. Smoothly...softly...
Each
night I wonder where you are? What are
you doing at this moment? Are you safe? Well? But with all these questions that
pop into my head, I know deep with in my soul that wherever you are, you're
fine.
I
still remember that time with Magneto.
The nightmare that unfortunately was reality, which I try to avoid
everyday of my life. But no matter if I
forget about it through the day or night, i still recall it in my dreams. That
painful, horrible day. When I was forced to remember something, by one of my 'classmate'
or friend, but who wasn't really him, but one of Magneto 'friends'. Mystique,
the shape lifter.
But
that day when hearing those words slip out from *Bobby's* lips, it hurt me so
much, I wanted to cry and cry wishing I would drown in my own tears.
*~*Flashback*~*
"Rogue!"
"Bobby!"
"Rogue what did you do?" Bobby
asked as he jogged toward the bench where Rogue sat outside the Academy.
"They say you stole other mutants powers..."
She blinked and tried to defend herself.
"No...I...I...I...borrow his powers..."
"You never use your power against
another mutant!" He scolded.
Rogue was taken back, "I had no
choice..." She tried to
reason. "No, you have to
understand...." But was cut off....
"If I were you I get myself out of
here...."
Rogue blink in shock. "What do you
mean?"
Bobby stared at her hard. "Listen, the
students are freaked, ProfessorXavier is furious. I don't know what he'll do
with you." He sighed as he
continued to look at her hard. "I think it'll be easier on your
own...."
Rogue tried to blink away the tears that
threaten to come. She opens her mouth
to speak but Bobby stops her. "You
should go...." He whispered. They stood for a second or two looking at
each other, and Rogue look away a bit as the tears started slowly to come
down. And she looked at bobby and stood
up jogging away...hurting inside. She
stop as she was a few feet away and turned to look at him one more time, and
tears came down harder, and she turned and ran off....
*~*End of flashback*~*
Remembering
also how I tried to runaway again, then with Logan finding me. His words for me, at the moment were.... I
don't even have words to describe them. But they touched my heart deeply.
Especially when he said he promised he would take care of me.
*Flashback*
Logan looked at Rogue with a soft
smile. "So what do you say we give
those geeks one more chance?" He
looked at her, seeing no response he continued. "Come on.... I’ll take
care of you..."
Rogue's eyes widen a bit, and glowed as
well. She spoke softly to him like a
little girl. "You promise?"
Logan thought for a second and nodded as he
spoke, "Yeah...yeah I promise!"
Rogue smiles a bit, which wasn't really
showing, but Logan saw it either way....
*End of flashback*
And
he did when he rescued me from Magneto. Saved me from my pains, at what Magneto
had done to me. Making his power, his
evil power seep into me, hurting me, killing me and later could kill all
mankind.
I
can never forget you Logan. Never. I never felt this strongly about anyone as I
do to you. I can still feel you in my
head, and also feel how you held me in your arms...so soft even if it can never
happen again...I'll always remember it...
Chapter
Five: Hidden Feelings
Oh god...oh god...oh god...
"Dr.
Grey?"
She
blinked, "Yes, Jonathan?"
"Why
can't we just fight the people who go against us?"
He sounds just like him...
"Jonathan,
we don't hurt others."
Forget.... forget...forget...
"But
we let them hurt us, either physical or emotional?!"
Pain.... pain...
"That
doesn't mean that we have an obligation to hurt Jonathan."
I can't think of him. He doesn't belong to me...
"I
think that just sucks totally."
But I can't forget you.... I just
can't...fuck...
"I
know Jonathan, but you have to understand we are not villains. Yes, were
mutants, but not evil either."
I'll always remember you.
Jonathan
sighed, but nodded.
Logan.
Chapter
Six: The Watchers
“Is there something a matter Professor?” Ororo Munroe asked worriedly to Professor Xavier who sat on his
hover chair in his office, still with his eyes closed. Just the slight movement of his chest
heaving up and down softly showed signs of him being alive.
As
if in a trance Xavier broke his chain of thoughts and opened his eyes to look
at one of his former students, his companions, his children, “Oh nothing to
worry about, I was merely thinking.”
“Oh.”
She merely stated back.
Xavier
cocked his head to the left and raised his eyebrows a bit. “Aren’t you going to
ask me of what?”
She
shook her head softly. “I wouldn’t want to intrude in your thoughts
Professors…” She saw a light smile form upon Xavier lips. “Besides you’ll tell
me anyway…” With that she smiled back.
With
a light chuckle, “How well you know me Ororo.” He sighed but then his voice
turned slight serious. “I’m starting to get worried…” At the mention of just
that little comment Ororo stood straighter. “I’ve notice that Jean has
changed…”
“Changed
Professor?”
“She
hasn’t been herself since Logan left.” Ororo nodded. “And a few days ago Scott
came to me asking for advice. He seems
worried about her as I am now. He mentioned something about her not able to
sleep well. Do you believe she getting sick?”
“I’m
not sure… But I can figure out.” Ororo suggested and Xavier nodded.
With
that Ororo turn around on her heels and headed out the office the same way she
came in. Leaving Professor Xavier back to his pensive meditations.
