Eyes of Azure

And there on a cliff
Stood a gryphon
Eyes of Azure
Blazing out toward the horizon
Feathers metallic in color
Blowing in the wind
Guarding the gates to a portal
Carved elegantly with pictures
Of long forgotten creatures
The treasures held deep within
Were crystals, emeralds, and sapphires
Shine brightly in the moonlight
Golden goblets inlaid with rare stones
Statues and shrines belonging to
Ancient Gods and Goddesses
Guarded by one lonely solitaire
Gryphon upon a cliff
With azure eyes blazing out toward
The horizon
