The Quest
I was told "less is more on the road of the Quest, the Quest you'll begin today. The road is long, resources few and many will get in your way. So savour each moment, forgive and let live, meet many who follow your way, and try not to love, for love is a sin and sin is the basis of hate."
To that I told them "let me be true, allow me to follow the way, but don't force me to forget all I love, for that I would sourly hate. Let me be free, upon my Quest, and send me forth this day, not with the portrait that love is a sin, but that love must come my way."
They laughed, then said "Child, be still, you're only young at heart, therefore you could not understand, why we must tear you apart. We're not evil, sinister demons of hate, the hate which you feel today, but keepers of your very soul, the soul you must claim without haste. We were sent to you, from heaven above, to say on this very day, that your life will surely come to an end if you do notfollow our way. The quest was set for you to escape the demons from within and if you do not follow this quest, your heart will be torn again."
"I shall follow this Quest" I said to them then "The Quest which you set this day, but I shall do it with love, for love is the key, and that is all I shall say."
They shook their heads and hung them low, trying to hide their dismay, and left me here on this very bench, to follow the Quest as I may.
