Epilogue

“Okay why are we here again?” I asked Dom and Elijah for about the fiftieth time that night.
“I love ya babe but shut up all right?” Lij
squeezed my hand as we headed toward the Kiwi. I will never tire of hearing him
say that. You’d think that after two weeks it was too early for us to be saying
that, but we begged to differ.
“We’ve been here every night for two weeks
can’t Nila meet us somewhere else after work?” I grumbled trying to ignore the
electricity that went through my arm.
Dom ignored me and smiled at Elijah, “I truly
enjoy the fact that you can tell her to shut up and keep your nuts intact.”
Elijah grinned, “I’m just gifted.”
He was right, damn fucking gifted as far as I
was concerned but I managed to get a scowl on my face, “Keep that up lover and
you’re gifts are going to be made dormant.” I growled.
He just took the hand he was holding and pulled
it around his waist so I was closer to him, “Just try, I dare you.” He
whispered into my ear.
Sod him and his sexiness! I gulped, “We’re at
the door.” I managed.
He winked at Dom, “See. Gifted.”
I shook my head and rolled my eyes at Luke,
“He’s humble my boyfriend.”
“I’ve always thought so.” Luke said with a
smile, “She’s working behind the bar. Maybe you can convince her to take some
time off.” He said to Dom.
Dom got a wicked smile on his face, “Oh I’m
sure I can persuade her.”
What’s scary is he can. I would never have
believed if I hadn’t seen it for myself. He walked over to the bar as Lij and I
settled in front of it he behind it. Nila looked up at him and smiled, “Well
hello.”
“You’re not working tonight.” He stated matter
of factly.
“I’m not?”
“Nope, Orli has instructed that the lot of us
come here tonight for some reason so you are not allowed to work.” He put a
hand on the small of her back.
It’s always humorous for me to watch the two of
them, I wonder if Elijah and I look so soppy. Probably. She looked over at me
with an eyebrow raised. I just shook my head, “I have no idea. This one told me
we were to come here again so I obliged. I didn’t know Orli was back till right
now.”
She smirked, “You live with the lad and still
you didn’t know?”
I blushed, “I’ve been slightly preoccupied
lately.”
“You don’t say.” She wiggled her eyebrows, “Me
too.”
Elijah looked at Dom and sighed, “If they start
getting graphic I’m outta here.”
“Are you kidding me? Give ‘em details love.” He
squeezed Nila’s waist.
She laughed and swatted at him, “What details?”
I laughed out loud. The two of them are forever
cracking me up. The commotion at the front of the bar indicated the newest
arrival to the bar, “His royal elfness is here.” I said with a sigh although I
had already let go of Lij so I could launch myself at my cousin.
He laughed and hugged me, “You’re in high
spirits tonight cuz.”
I grinned, “It’s been a good month.”
“That it has.” He had a twinkle that I haven’t
seen in awhile. “Where’s this Rose character?” I finally asked looking over his
shoulder as we made our way back to our friends.
He looked at me quizzically, “I’m sorry?”
I smiled, “She knew about me and had our flat
number. Don’t insult my intelligence by saying she’s just a mate.”
He winked. “All in do time Soph. Lij!” He
clapped his friend on the back and gave him a hug. “How’s the shoot going
mate?”
“It’s a lot of fun actually. I’m growing to
really love this city.” He said smiling at me. Oh mercy how that man can make
me blush.
Orli chuckled then jumped on Dom, “You won her
over with gerberas! You are a genius.”
Dom laughed and looked at me, “Sophia told me
about the flowers.” He tried.
I held a hand up and shook my head, “The rest
was your idea though Dom, you’re a sweetheart it’s a about time you squared
with that.”
“Either way he won the lovely Nila.” Orli said
with a grin as he kissed both of her cheeks, “I’m quite impressed.”
She grinned up at him, “It’s the crooked smile,
I just couldn’t help myself.”
“Right.” Orli laughed.
Luke came over at that moment and leaned in to
say something into his sister’s ear. She nodded, “Right. Okay lads, it’s seems
you’ve caused a stir so we’re heading into the back room.”
I looked around the room; sure enough our
little party was getting a lot of attention, damn people. I sometimes want to
forget that my boyfriend, best guy mate and cousin are famous. Take that out of
the equation and I’d have a normal life. I felt a shiver as Lij put his arm
around me to guide me toward the back. I leaned into him and smiled, of course
if it weren’t for me cousin’s job I wouldn’t have found Elijah to begin with.
Guess I can live with an abnormal life, normal is too boring anyway.
Once we got into the back room I left Lij again
so I could plop myself down on my cousin’s lap. “Rose Orli just tell me if
she’s rated a meeting.”
He laughed and whispered into my ear, “You’ll
meet her soon enough Soph.”
I looked at him with shock, “I didn’t even meet
Kate.” He grimaced, “Sorry.”
“Don’t be,” He patted my leg, “Rose is
different Soph.”
“Oi! Orli, you buying the first round!” Dom
called.
“Different?” I asked.
“All in time Soph.” He pushed me off his lap
with a smile, “In time.” He repeated.
I hate being kept in the dark it bothers me to
no end, “What was that about?” Lij asked I almost hadn’t felt him come up
behind me.
“Cousin talk.” I said.
“Save it then.” He smacked my bottom, “It’s not
time for cousin talk.”
“Help me get the drinks Soph?” Nila asked.
“Right.” I walked over to her as Orli grabbed
Lij and stuck him in a headlock.
“You be good to my cousin ya wanker.” He said
with a laugh.
I love my life, normal or not. “This is worth
it right Nila?” I asked.
She grinned and hooked her arm with mine,
“Fuckin’ right.”
