| What is the best way to go about meeting a celebrity? By acquiring a job through which an encounter would happen naturally? By happenstance? By hunting down and stalking them? We will never meet a celebrity, especially not by any of these means. Let us explain. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Nonsense rating system! | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Nevermind intends to become involved in a job working with teenagers, and though celebrity saturates their culture, she knows that running into one would not come about naturally through that particular vocation. Likewise, she has never been very fortunate when it comes to happenstance, or to put it another way, she's not particularly lucky, especially when it comes to running into famous people or winning the lottery. Then again, she can't recall ever actually buying a lottery ticket, which does hamper her slightly towards the latter ambition. She's also not a hunter. There have been very few times in her life where she has actually sought someone out, celebrity or otherwise. Normally she only pursues a relationship with someone once she has had opportunity to meet him or her first so she can judge whether her efforts will be in vain or not. In conclusion, she thinks you'll agree that she will never meet a celebrity. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| DreamInColour, or just Dream, is going to be a teacher, or at least that is the plan. She has always been slightly fascinated with celebrity and popular culture. Not to the point of actually seeking out either, just interested in the dynamics of both. That said there have been a couple of instances when she has stumbled across celebrity and we do mean stumble. By sheer circumstance and being in the right place at the right time. That said neither Dream nor Nevermind has run into or has any affiliation with the famous names you will read about on this site. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| So, having said all that, we will now venture to write what we have heard termed a 'fan-fic' or 'fan-fiction' about Orlando Bloom and Elijah Wood. As we have never met Mr. Bloom or Mr. Wood and only know vague bits and pieces about them, these stories will not purport to reveal any insights into their thoughts or personality. Rather, they are stories about characters that happen to share their names. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| It was the names that intrigued us, actually. No really it was; you must admit that these two gentlemen have unique names. It's the uniqueness that fascinates us. For example, we keep thinking Orlando's should be part of some advertisement for a Florida gardening festival: Orlando Blooms! And maybe Elijah's name is an advertisement for a hardware store: Elijah's Wood! We particularly like the way the names feel in our mouths. It's fantastic practice for a good kiss as far as we're concerned. Depending on the speed with which you say them, you can change the intensity of the kiss. Just remember not to say it out loud when actually engaged in said kiss! The recipient may not necessarily appreciate that. Unless, of course, you find yourself kissing Orlando or Elijah themselves. Should anyone reading these stories end up in that situation, we would love to hear their reaction! Dominic Monaghan is another story altogether, but we won't get into that.... | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| It interests us how much a name means to us. It embodies who we are to some extent. Our personality gets wrapped up in our names. For example, have you ever met someone who shared a name with someone from your past who you didn?t particularly like? Your reactions to the new person have to somehow get separated from your reactions to that last person. Or perhaps you meet someone who shares your name. Do you not feel possessive of your name and somewhat resentful of the person who seems to have stolen it? | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| Now, what if a story was to be written with a character who had your name? What kinds of reactions would that produce? Would you worry about whether the author represented you well? Whether he or she treated your name with the kind of care he or she would treat his or her own? Would it upset you if the author were completely off base? These are the questions that niggle at us as we write. Now, it is highly unlikely that Mr. Bloom or Mr. Wood would ever read this, but what if Nevermind's poor run with happenstance came to an end? Part of us insist that we're completely silly for even doing something like this and the other part of us says who cares? There are characters waiting to be written and so why shouldn't we write them, even if they do share a name with a celebrity or two? There are also some characters who are completely original so let it be known that these characters belong to Dream and Nevermind and cannot be used without their permission. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| So we shall ignore the part of us that accuses us of being silly and endeavor to write these characters. We're not entirely sure how they will turn out, and in each story they will be different. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| And yes, this is a long-winded disclaimer, but if you have liked our writing style so far, we promise we won't disappoint in the pages you choose to read. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
