Eternal Jesus Freaks

Are YOU an Eternal Jesus Freak?

Vol. 1                                                                                                       November 2002

What Is An Eternal Jesus Freak?

An Eternal Jesus Freak is someone who wears their faith on their sleeve.  It is someone who knows that being a Jesus freak isn’t just about going to church, or listening to DC Talk, but knowing God, personally.  It is taking it further than mere belief, or religion.  Knowing God means knowing Who He is, What He is about, and not having the need to understand.  Just knowing He is, is hard enough to understand, without knowing why He does everything.  Furthermore, being an Eternal Jesus Freak means you know God loves you, and you love Him back.  Words cannot express it; there is no understanding how deep this love goes.  It is beyond your latest boy/girl friend, your parent’s pride, or even that simple joy of living that sneaks up on you once in a while when you forget you’re supposed to be in a bad mood.  His love is that silent comfort that seeps into your bones when you are feeling most alone and broken.  Your love to him is letting Him into your life, and trusting Him to take control.  And while He is in control, you let the world see it.

That is an Eternal Jesus Freak.

Youth Groups

Is it important to belong to a youth group?  I think so.  The important thing is to know you are in the right one.  It does not necessarily have to be in a church, however.  It could simply be a group of teens from around the neighborhood hooking up once a week to talk about God.  It’s still a youth group, because you’re youth, and you’re in a group!  So, if you’re not in a youth group, join one!

Trouble is brewing in Baker, Washington. Three popular athletes have been stricken with a mysterious ailment--or phenomenon--that leaves them ranting incoherently, paranoid, and eventually comatose. Ever ready to seek truth and justice, teen twins Elisha and Elijah and their parents hop in their van, the Holy Roller, and head to Washington. As members of a top-secret presidential investigative team, the Veritas Project, the family must be prepared to go undercover at any moment. Soon they are deeply embroiled in a deadly mystery that involves witchcraft, bullying, the ghost of a boy who hanged himself long ago, and a most diabolical weapon.

Devo

I am sure most of you have heard the poem “Footprints”.  It tells the story of how a man was walking down the beach with God as scenes from his life flashed by.  When he looked back at their footprints in the sand, he noticed only one set of footprints at the hardest times in his life.  “Where were you then”, he asks God, “I thought you said you would never leave me nor forsake me?”  God answered him by saying “My son, it was at those times that I carried you.”  Think about that a little bit, guys.  God is always there, and when things get really rough, He’ll even carry you.  You’re his child, always, even when it doesn’t feel like it.
