I was at Alcon. It was being held in the World Famous Muscatine Holiday Inn-where the towels are kinda fluffy-and Al had not arrived. Bermuda, Steve, Jim and Rubn were there, however, and they were going to play a song for us.
I looked around the room for a seat. It was packed-naturally-so I headed for the one empty seat I did see way on the other side of the room. As I walked over there, I saw Steve notice me and nod at the other band members.  I settled down in my seat just as Steve walked up to his microphone.
Hey, Megan? I started blushing, but managed to say Yes? Will you come up and help us? I looked around at the crowd. All of them were staring at me. Umonly if you hug me. The entire crowd looked shocked and said SSSSHHH! but Steve grinned at me and said Sure!
I picked my way through the crowd and ended up right next to the stage. Rubn handed me a belt with a bunch of audio equipment on it. Now all we have to do is wait for Al. I strapped the belt on and stood by the stage, looking around for Al.
Quite a long time later, Al still hadnt shown up. Frustrated and tired, I took the belt off and sat down in the backstage area (namely the closet). The band were tired of waiting too. They had a tape of Als vocals, just in case Al didnt show up, so they stuck that in a tape player and attempted to play. It didnt work, so Bermuda took over vocals and they played Chicken Pot Pie and Laundry Day.
