The Whisper Of You
Walking through the fields,
I came upon a barn.
Empty and forsaken,
On this long forgotten farm.
Shelter from the thunder storm,
My haven I had found.
Until the time the storm had passed,
Then I'd be homeward bound.
Darkened clouds crashed overhead,
Crying out their rage.
The wind whipped and rain lashed,
Natures own rampage.
Rain poured in, soaked me through,
Shivering there I stood.
I turned and lay down in the hay,
A haven warm and good.
I drifted off the sleep so fast,
I didn't hear the sound.
A whispering voice that said the words,
"At last, my love I've found."
I didn't feel you when you wrapped,
My body in your arms.
I failed to feel the sweet caress,
Your spoken magic charms.
I lay in slumber deep and warm,
Held there by your side.
Bound safely in your strong embrace,
Till the storm that raged subsides.
Into my dreams you whisper words,
So tender, loving, kind.
Encompassed by a magic spell,
My aching heart you bind.
Eternally to be with you,
As the love you yearned for, long.
You cast your words into my mind,
The spell you weave, so strong.
When I awake, and you are gone,
My heart, it feels a loss.
I make my way toward my home,
Whilst searching for the cause.
I cannot rest, my heart it aches,
For something lost I yearn.
So that same night, to ease my plight,
To that lonely barn, I must return.
Standing here now in this gloom,
I know this is the thing to do.
So in this cold deserted room,
I wait to feel, the whisper of you....
