Twilight |
The sun has set, 'tis twilight time The world that now awakes, is mine My senses sharpen, become alert Dulled by day, by pain and hurt |
Energy denied to me by hunger, stress and pain At dusk, pours back into my soul, and courses through my veins At night the world it comes alive, though few eyes ever see The beauty, richness and delight, that twilight holds for me |
It seems a shame that there are times, the sun it has to rise The harshness of the daylight hides, these wonders from your eyes I love the pleasures of the night, and live my life by day The pity is, that in this world, there can be no other way |
You watch your daily lives unfold and never seem to care Never find and touch the love and beauty you find there So here I sit, and watch and wait, till twilight comes again And marvel at the thought how few, the night will call a friend |
