HIDDEN BEAUTY |
I am not this body that you see, I am not the clothes I wear. I am not the lines upon my face, Or the gray that's in my hair. |
I am the smile upon my lips, The sparkle in my eye. The passion that burns within my heart That asks the question, why? |
Why do you only see with eyes, And not see with your heart? Let preconceptions fall away And let this friendship start. |
Or has this world become a place Where only beauty reigns. And those whose beauty lies within Must live in lonely pain. |
For that's true ugliness to me, To see warm hearts ignored. For they have naught but love to give, With them, you'd be adored.
