We were friends for oh, so long.
Sharing words, a smile, a song.
You made your way into my heart,
And of my life became a part.
We talked unto the early hours,
You sent me sunsets, music, flowers,
Shared your poetry and your art,
Brought a touch of love back in my heart.
And then one day you went away,
I remember it well, even today,
Remembering the friendship that we had,
Brings me tears, makes me sad.
I never knew why it happened so,
You would not say, I could not know,
I tried to talk so many times,
But you would hear no words of mine.
I tried again just recently,
A question needs an answer please..
For even in the depths of despair,
For you my friend, I care.
