Brief Synopsis:
Jessica Drew, once known to the world as Spider-Woman, thinks about the events of her life as she returns to her current employers place of business. Still a private Investigator, Drew recalls when the Avengers offered her a position on their team, and wonders if she joined, would she have killed like some of their members in the disaster that destroyed them? She actually admires Hawkeye, and thinks it's sad that her life has gotten so bad that she admires dead people. Jessica's thoughts are interrupted when two gangsters attempt to rob her. Instinctively, Jessica raises her hands to fire a venom blasts, but only a small amount of energy shimmers around her hands. Recalling that her powers are still not working, Jessica takes the gangsters out quickly the old-fashioned way.
Once inside, Jessica is given her paycheck, and returns home. To her surprise, Jessica finds a strange man sitting on her couch. Once more, she raises her hands to fire a venom blasts, having similar effects. She instead kicks the man and a brief struggle ensues. The mans stops her attacks, telling her his name is Connely, and he is a fan of hers. He also claims he can give her powers back, and her life meaning. Jessica is now curious, and asks what he wants from her. He smiles.
