Hi Friends,

Thanks to Eswar & Prasanna who accompanied me for the Meeting with Mr. Lad.
We met Mr. Lad & his three volunteers in Aarey Milk Colony Park in Goregaon.

Primarily, this is what we discussed:-

1. We started off by explaining to Mr. Lad that we do SEVA [social work] for the Pada near Picnic Spot area, where we spend some time with the kids on weekends. We also told him that this has been going on since last 12 months. Informed him that latest we have been able to get a Study Room ready for future purposes and we are looking to establish a well-defined structure & role-based working.


Further to this, we politely asked him for his expertise & guidance on these issues & for a long-term visionary solution to the Pada's overall development.

2. Mr. Lad said that he willing to guide us & help us - He hinted that right now, the first thing to be arranged for - a Meeting where all DreamIndia volunteers sit down with Mr. Lad's group - where we can bring our issues to his notice. Then after we all come down to a prioritized agenda, we then have a joint meeting with the Community Folk. This will ensure that the community people themselves voice out all their current/urgent issues.

3. After all this is done, it will be easier to strategize & visualize how we can solve each problem & how we can work as a Structured Team - where everyone has a defined role & work-area. He basically made a good point - that Field-Work must be preceded by a lot of planning & thought; because we might pay attention to only a few needs/issues BUT the community folk might have several other issues unknown to us. He was also stressing how much important it is - that the Pada or the Tribal Village - should have its own Identity for several reasons, so that at a later stage, their land [on which all these padas are built] is not under threat from Builders or the Government.

Updates on the Pooja - Well, Saravanan informed me that this Sunday, Pooja cannot happen, so we have right now postponed it, we will announce the date after confirming the finishing of the Room-work!
