Since AG kids have gone to their relatives, we are planning to utilize coming weekend with some other special kids.

Following is the information I got about an organization - Manavya - It takes care of the children who are HIV positive. (Please find short description below)

The idea is just to spend some time with the children there ... it could be playing ... chatting ... or anything...!

I am still trying to contact them to fix the timing. It should be some time Saturday Evening or Sunday Evening. Those who are interested, feel free to give me a call on 9422760672 after 2 pm tomorrow ... I would fix up timing with Manavya and let you know.

Manavya

Manavya is an organization working in the field of HIV/AIDS. It provides basic facilities to the children women who are HIV infected or affected.

Manavya is established in June 1997. It is registered charitable Trust Mrs.Vijayatai Lawate is the founder member of the organization. Because of her dedication and determination, this organization has come up. Mrs. Vijayatai Lawate has been working for and with commercial sex workers since thirty years. She is a strong believer of human values and humanity. 'Commercial Sex Workers are human begins and they need social support ' this belief made her to work in red light area. While working in this red light area, she came across the problems of Commercial Sex Worker's children, and the concept of Manavya a residential organization for children came into existence.

Objectives

1. To provide basic facilities like food, clothing, shelter and education to the children and women who are HIV infected or affected.
2. To give emotional and social supports to these inmates.
3. To provide counseling and medical services top commercial sex workers through mobile clinic.
4. To provide educational and counseling services to the children residing at Red light area.
5. To provide medical facilities to the women & children at center, people from near by village.

Activities are run under Manavya - Gokul

It is a residential Shelter home for the children & women who are HIV infected or affected. Gokul is situated at Matalwadi near Bhugaon which is a suburb of Pune city.Gokul provides basic facilities along with education to inmates.
