The visit was wonderful ... here is the short report sent to the entire team. It was wonderful experience at Manavya - 54 sweet kids and a lovely environment!

Little far than Hotel ambrosia, there is Bhugaon. This is where Manavya is. (I shall send the snaps in the following mail). Manavya is a home for HIV positive kids. The superintendent told many things about the institute and the way it works.

Being HIV positive, the kids are much vulnerable for ANY disease. Even a small mosquito could make the things worse. They have a fixed schedule of everything, when to eat, when to sleep, when to go out and likewise. Each time the schedule is disturbed, the things could go worse. In spite of such stringent constraints, the life is beautiful there. They still smile. They play like anything. They shout like anything. The best thing was - neither the kids nor the caretakers - had any slightest feeling of fighting lost battle.

The children also make some beautiful stuff like potteries, articles etc. Manavya also sells them. Since no one dares to come there for working, the house mothers who take care of the children are also HIV positive. They also work in their leisure time.

The kids know that they are suffering from HIV and it is non-curable. They know the importance of taking medicine and the consequences of missing any of the doses.

Many groups come there and lend a helping hand to the institute in all forms. Did anyone know that �Durvankur� provides the institute free groceries every month? The only thing which they need is people n their time. The village has almost boycotted the institute. They cut the water pipe. They don�t let the children enter the village. They don�t tolerate children studying in the common school (Manavya has appointed 2 teachers in-house for the kids). Hence the world for the kids doesn�t go beyond the gate of Manavya. All the kids become very happy when someone comes there to play with them.

There are lots of things guys to write ... but would like to invite you all there. It is worth experiencing. More than everything it gives a different way to look at life.

When asked about the help that we can do, they said, if you get time do come here again.

Next weekend also, we might not go to AG since the kids there would not be there. We can visit Manavya again ... just for playing some crazy games. Those who are interested, feel free to give me a call on 9422760672.
