You see, my little one seemed to be a fighter from the beginning. I was destined to miscarry in my first and second trimester. We could not understand why I was bleeding or having pain. Then in the middle of my second trimester, my doctor saw something that blew us all away - Complete Placenta Previa. I could not have a regular delivery and would have to stay in bed, no activity at all for the remainder of my pregnancy. Regardless of my inactivity, Maggie rumbled on inside me up until the last days of my pregnancy...that is when it got really interesting...
Well, during the beginning of my 33rd week, I was sitting at my PC relaxing, talking to a friend and all of the sudden I feel a gush; as if I just peed myself. I went to the bathroom and to my horror I had just passed a blot clot the size of a baseball and was bleeding profusely.
That same day I was hospitalized and monitored which seemed like an eternity. I laid in the hospital strapped to a fetal monitor for 3 1/2 weeks praying that I make it one more day.
Finally, when I was about 36 weeks gestation an amnio was performed to see if her lungs were mature enough. Thank God they were... To my relief and Maggie's, they took her the very next day.
