She began dedicating her dancing to flamenco in her early 20's and has fallen in love with the artform. Drea has mainly studied flamenco under the tutelage of Yaelisa in San Fransisco.
Some of the great Spanish artists she has studied with are Concha Vargas, Jose Galvan, Raphael Campallo, Belen Maya, and Concha Jareno. And the journey of learning and growing never ends. Her mission in dance is to explore all her training in modern dance and flamenco.
Last summer (2005), she studied with Angel Munoz at Maria Benitez's annual Spanish dance workshop. She was also invited to study with Carmela Greco with the company Flamenco Ole in Philedalphia.
This year her group Flamenco Puro received a grant from the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Comission to produce show that showcases Drea's top students as well as bring guest flamenco artists to perform with us.
Currently she performs regulary throughout Sacramento and the Sierras.
