Africa's Rallying Point

Conscious Rasta Forum

DREADVISION

Have you ever wondered what Rastafari is about? Welcome to worldviews of the ancient and mystical kind.

In this web space, the African dimension of human history will be explored in relationship to the Meditation of Rastafari. Human history, as well as the African divine connection to those who rallied around the Arc of the Covenant - will be explored. One-ness and JAH Bless thee.

Throughtout human development, people have grouped themselves according to tribes, religions and endless fragmentations. Africans could be said to be the greatest victims of this, as the continent is challenged by immense poverty, resulting from division. Yet, Rastafari people seek to share a way of life which is unified not only on a practical day-to-day basis, but in the way Africans perceive their own history and origin.

As long as Africa is fragmented in terms of working from the base of common identity and history, there will always be wars which rob the continent of resources which should be used to develop the people and the land. Schools and roads could be built. Hospitals could be improved and literacy amongst the poor could explode. Instead, we are allowing a few individuals to pursue their selfish and unrighteous desires for wealth and power, neglecting the majority.

Is there no rallying poing for African people? On the deepest level, is there not a force or source which would inspire African people to view their redemption as a sacred mission?

According to Rastafari people, there is. Rastafari view the processes of African redemption as holy, sacred.

This sacred-ness goes to the core of the way Africans identify themselves in relationship to their God, and the rest of the nations of the Earth. Africans are the Mothers and Fathers of those who call themselves Christians, Jew, Muslim or any other religious name. We are the roots of Humanity, and Humanity cannot fully understand itself in truth, if it is unable to acknowledge the foundation we hold. Furthermore, Africans cannnot hold this foundation if a true overstanding of self is not present.

To Rastafari people, Africa is Ethiopia. Africa was known as Ethiopia before she was known as Africa. This is how the land and people are referred to in the ancient texts, such as the Old Testament. click here for more insight into the origin of Ethiopia's name.
