| GUIDING PRINCIPLES Bad Company is a group of Mechwarrior 3 enthusiasts that play for the enjoyment of the game. Skill levels, preferred mod's, etc., are unimportant--it is the attitude that counts. It is important that we want to play with one another-- that we are friends. Most of us found our way to BC because of the caliber of the people-- preferring not to be among the rude, the arrogant, the cheats, and the morons frequently found on the ZONE. BC has no "leadership". We manage by consensus. All members are equal and every member has a vote. All members are entitled to put forth any issue for a vote. We are a democracy. In order for us to keep BC a clan we want to belong to, we agree to follw these "GUIDING PRINCIPLES". 1. As in any democracy there will be a majority and a minority which will fluctuate with the issue. In BC, the majority rules. If you find yourself in the minority, you must accept and support the decision of the majority. 2. e-mail is the preferred method of communication. Each member should provided the clan their email address. Since we respect each others privacy, if you do not want to share your ISP-provided-email address, we encourage you to create a Hotmail address using your BC name. For roster updates and distributions, please send updates to: [email protected]. 3. We respect each other and others on the ZONE-- so long as they deserve. 4. We do not cheat. Members who are suspected of cheating or displaying unacceptable behaviors may be expelled by a majority vote. 5. Members may have other memberships in different clans. 6. Bad Company is an "invitation only" group-- we do not run "recruiting rooms" looking for players. All members are entitled to nominate prospects for membership. Obviously, this can happen in two ways: First, you nominate someone to become a member, or Second, a player has interest in membership in BC. 7. When you nominate a prospect, you must announce it to the clan before the prospect is invited to join. Provide the Clan with the (exact) current Zone name of the prospect so that the Clan can watch for and play with them to form an opinion. 8. In the latter, you must inform the requestor that BC is an "invitation" only clan, but, if they wish to pursue membership they should watch for and play with as many BC members as they can. If they seem to be "our" kind of people, the requestor will be sent an invitation of membership by the Clan. The prospect must be evaluated by the Clan, so you must inform the members of BC. 9. After a reasonable period of time for evaluation, the Clan should voice their opinion on the prospect. It is the sponsor's obligation to solicit the input of the rest of the Clan via a Poll on the BC web site under "FORUM". Create a "yes" , "no", "abstain" vote. The membership mailing list will be distributed to all members periodically (or posted on the site) All members are not religious readers of e-mail: You should create a room titled "Bad Company" with an info box stating "e-mail vote requested" to prompt the Clan to their e-mails. Lock the room and mark yourself as "AFK" in the Zone Friends Options. Leave the room active for 24 hours. Silence is to be considered a "yes" vote. If the majority consensus is a "yes", the sponser will invite the prospect to wear the Clan's colors. Obtain an e-mail address from the new member and a copy of this "Guiding Principles" is sent to them to which they must abide by. Send the new member's email address to: [email protected] so that their name and address may be added to the roster for further distributions. |
