| Graphics 12/20 The graphics, although 99% RTP were used very nicely. They fit the mood of the game very well, since, for the most part, the game seemed really, "cheerful," and not real serious. The main plot might have been exceptionall serious, but the overall dialogue was very happy and stuff. Story 16/20 I liked the main plot of this game very much. I also liked how it was branched off to create various side-plots, and they weren't very jumbled up like most games that attempt to do this. It lost some points, since I found the dialogue very plain and uninteresting. It was the basic, "Im pissed off but I still talk happy" dialogue. Most of the characters could be told apart by theirpersonalities. Examples would be: The Lycanthorpe and the thief. The Lycanthorpe displayed his excellent knowledge while talking, and the thief talked like a horney little bastard, who did jobs, and found them fun. He was very outgoing. The only thing that was bad, is the character's personalities faded away as the game progressed. But, now as I finished the game, the plot gets tons better, and much more interesting. It leaves the individual ambitions, and goes onto an interesting save the world type quest, in which the villian plays various mindgames with the player. Overall, quite interesting. Gameplay- 17/20 The game was very customized, and featured a lot of interesting things in it. I disliked that the enemies moved so fast, there was a 50% chance you would fight all of them. This really pissed me off, espeacially because the enemies would regenerate every time you went to a new map.(which was quite often). I also liked the setup of the towns, even though it did show that Solik was a bit lazy to create an entire town. I also hated the fact you couldn't save on the world map! The boss battles were excellent! They weren't just like normal battles, but more like puzzles, which was a very interesting addition to the game. I hope Solik keeps this idea up, because its really good. Music/Sound- 17/20 I loved the music at the collesium! It was the terminator 2 theme when he went down into the lava! I thought most of the music in this game was excellent, but some of it was overused. According to the creator, most of these midis originated from his previous game, and thats why they are popular now. There was a lack of RTP in the game, which is a good thing since most of the RTP music sucks. Overall, really good in the music area. Bugs- 6/10 There was a bug in this game, which really pissed me off, since it disabled me from playing without restarting the game. It was the problem, which was previously mention with the energy ball. Im hoping in a future release this problem will be fixed. There were also a few spelling mistakes which lowered the score also. Balance: 7/10 Overall, this game was pretty well balanced in all area, although it lacked a bit in the graphics area. The dialogue could be worked on a bit, as could the graphics and the speed of the On-touch monsters. Also the no-save feature on the world map was a real bother since sometimes it made me go back on what I was doing pretty far. There were also not many puzzles, ad the ones that were included were well thought out, but not really any fun to play. The game was overall pretty good, and Im hoping in the next release the previously mentioned problems will be fixed. Overall:74/100 D(Really Good...) |
