IT'S THE WEEKEND

APRIL 18-19, 2003

*Sitting around in the Digital Animation lab at my school just killing time while I could actually be doing something productive*

What up fools! Here I am hitting you up with yet another installment of Reflective Moments. It's been over a month since I said anything on this site. I intended to do it a few times, but I just never got around to it...or didn't feel like it. Now, here I am. As I type this sentence, it is three minutes before Saturday begins. I have just enjoyed the holiday known as Good Friday. It was Friday...and it was good (haha). Now I'm just counting down until the last day of school. There's only a little more than two weeks left, and now I am ready to leave this damn place. Speaking of school, I got assignments that I need to be doing right now since they're due on this coming Monday. Do I care right now? Hell no...lol.

*Looks at the clock and realizes that it is 12:00 am*

Well, well, well. It is 12:00...now 12:01 am. Good Friday is over and Saturday begins. I'm looking forward to yet another weekend of doing absolutely nothing. I've actually done a few things during the past week. On Monday, I went to this International Fashion Show thingy at school since two of my friends were in it. Well, I really came to see one of them in particular which was my friend T.V. I came along with my friend Hayley who found out at the last minute and decided to come along. It was...interesting. Well, the event took place outside so that was a nice touch. The audience turn-out was a little skimpy, and the show itself was...uh...oh yeah, interesting. My friend and I had a few good laughs at some of the "models" that were in it. I do have to say that the "models" did display some nice clothes. Africa and Vietnam were the major worldly places represented. T.V. did her thing. She was wearing some nice little ensembles, and at one point she whipped out a fan. However, she didn't fan herself with it. I was glad that I came. It was a bit funny, especially with the technical difficulties, sassy girls, and some female who dropped her Chinese fan. I took pictures of the event (but T.V. doesn't know yet). Speaking of technical difficulties...I have something to say about that. See, Hayley and I didn't sit down at this event. We stood somewhat in the back. We were laughing at the technical difficulties that the show was experiencing. The lights were faulty and the music was iffy a few times. At the end of the show Hayley fully realized that she was standing on this cord (she was somewhat aware that she was standing on something before but didn't know what it was). She mentioned that, and then she slightly tapped the metal plug with her foot. At that precise moment, the lights went out. Either the technicians behind the show turned them off (hopefully) or Hayley was the cause of all technical difficulties. Coincidence or Hayley's fault? We will never know...lol

On Wednesday, I was on television! I really was...well, sort of. See, it's like this. My school has their own little channel or whatever, and their major program was being made. It's a form for the school's president to speak out about various issues concerning the university. Along with a few others, I was sitting around doing my duties as a lab assistant when the station's manager was trying to recruit some audience members. I wasn't going to do it at first. I was acting like I was busy. Another lab assistant thought she was slick. The one I'm referring to is named Erica. She was trying to get away constantly and act like she was opening the doors for students to get into the labs. Well, she was off the hook anyway because she was about to leave. So, that left the final one in our little group. This would be my friend/sometimes nemesis Tillman. Eventually, he was recruited to be an audience member. It was funny because he basically set himself up. I was making fun of him at this point. Then, I saw two more of my friends Jason and Chris (which are also lab assistants) being recruited to be a part of the show. At that point, Lil' Manager still didn't have enough people. Minutes before the show start, she came back to try getting a few more people. She asked me and T.V. if we wanted to be in it. T.V. was like, "You wanna go?" I knew she wouldn't go if I didn't go. I decided to give in and give this mess a little twirl. So T.V. and I round out the lab assistant crew that would be on television. So, there we were...in the audience. T.V. an I was sitting in the front row on the left side of the room. Tillman, Jason, and Chris was sitting in the front row on the right side. We were part of such a momentous occasion...sitting for an hour being a part of this president's forum. Of course, this show thrives on audience participation. I didn't do that mess...lol. However, T.V. asked a decent question about controlling the situation of difficult class registration. Much of the show was dominated with questions of the school's budget cuts and parking issues. With each question, the President would say "That's a good question," or "That's an excellent question" or some other mess like that. Then he'd have to B.S. a bit. Some special guest lady was in the show too. I forgot who this person is, so in other words...she ain't nobody. Anyway, like near the end of the show Jason had to come in with this atrocious question. He was talking about two restroom stall doors being ripped out in his dorm and everyone's possible of being charged a fine of this activity. Of course he wanted to avoid the charge since he had no money. T.V. and I had to control our laughter. We were sitting trying so hard not to bust out laughing. That was the most entertaining moment. All in all, this was a nice event...especially since we were treated to a little reception afterwards. Free food = great!

All right, I don't have much more to say so I shall close this out soon. Just before now, T.V. was being all nosey and wondering what I was doing. She looked at the computer screen and realized what I am doing. Then she decided to read many of these precise words. She laughed a bit during the reading...then she really cracked up when she read that I took pictures of her at the fashion show. Damn it...she wasn't supposed to know yet...lol. Oh well, she won't see them for a while. That will keep her in suspense. Well, I'm about to escape this Digital Animation building because I have been here for far too long. It is now 1:24 am and this Moment of Reflection shall now end. Until the next time I hit you up with another entry, I am out. Peace.
