I’M ON VACATION

MARCH 11, 2003

Howdy doody everyone! I'm coming to you from my house where I am spending a much needed vacation from the atrocious establishment called college. Yes, I am on Spring Break, even though it is still winter, haha. At first I had a problem with that because since I first came to the college, it was one of the few colleges that actually celebrated Spring Break in its appropriate season. This year is quite different. However, that is a blessing in disguise because I really needed to get out of there for a while. I could barely take much more of it. So, getting away is quite good. However, when I return I will be thrown back into the same old mess. I can't return with a fresh start, unfortunately. Oh well. Speaking of Spring Break being in the winter, I am so sick of this fluctuating weather. When I first came home, there were some really nice days. Then on Sunday/Monday, it want's to be a bit cold again. Ridiculous. It better warm up this next day...or else.

I have been home since Friday evening. I left the school in the late morning, almost noon. I had to leave as soon as possible as you can tell. Since being here, I've been doing nothing but just chillin'...which is what I should be doing. However, that gets old of course. The free time is great though. Sometimes it's wonderful having absolutely nothing to do. Yet, eventually I had to occupy myself. So, I've been working on the little music megamix that I've hinted at previously. So far, it's going nicely. I pretty much got the early years covered as much as I could. It was nice looking back into the little audio archives that I have. Now I wish I had more. Those were fun little times when I did small musical ditties. Back then I did so much on tape that I didn't care about what I kept on there. So, I would record, erase, re-record, enjoy the tape somewhat, then either have the tape disappear or stolen by my ducky sister for her own selfish purposes. Fast forward to now, and I only have two major historic soundbites of myself making "music" from the early part of the 1990's. One of them isn't even in my posession. My sister had it since it is one of the many tapes she has stolen. Listening to it was enjoyable, but it also made me cringe...lol. She made an MP3 file of it for me while I was at school last year, so I'm able to keep that as long as I want. Well, enough of that trip down memory lane. The megamix is not too shabby at this point. So far, I have stuff 1992 and 1995 then the collection from 2001 and 2002. I intend to incorporate more with soundbites from 1999, 2000, and a little more from 2001. Then, it will be as complete as I can make it. Hopefully I will get it all done soon. So, it is safe to say that I will complete this project. As I have said before, it will be real ugly if I have come this far and I would suddenly stop.

Let's see...do I have anything else to say to you all at this time? Uh...not really. Right now, I'm just doing what I do best...not going to sleep. It's about 4:27 a.m. I'll go to sleep eventually, but not until after I watch a little Sesame Street on the Noggin Network. I haven't been tuning in to that channel too much lately. I've already noticed that it has changed some more. From what I can tell, they took off two of my favorite programs to make way for new ones. They axed Allegra's Window and Ghostwriter. That is a travesty, I tell ya. A real travesty. They ain't right. Noggin might become the next channel in my short line of "television channels that once were fresh and good, but becoming a bit atrocious." Thinking back to Spring Break of last year, Noggin was my new favorite channel. Now, I'm not as excited about it. I guess that's how it is. I still like it a lot better than other networks though. All right...now I'm babbling on and on about a television channel? I am definitely deprived of things to do or say. I guess that's how it is with me though. I guess I'm about to finally get away from this computer and go watch a little TV before I go to bed. Therefore, this Moment of Reflection is now coming to a close. Until the next time I hit you up with another entry, I'm out. Peace.
