THE DAY BEFORE CHRISTMAS

DECEMBER 24, 2002

Once again yo, yo, yo...and ho, ho, ho! It's Christmas Eve, and at the time of this typing it is currently 2:04 a.m. Central Standard Time. I'm basically just killing time here. Christmas Eve may very well be just another day. I don't know exactly what I will do during the course of the day, but chances are I'm staying my face right here at the crib.

The weekend has been typical. I didn't do much of anything nor did I go anywhere. Well...on Friday I resumed a little annual Christmas tradition. I let go of my recent contempt for my formerly beloved video game company (Sega in case you didn't know) and played Christmas NiGHTS: Into Dreams on the Sega Saturn system. That is my favorite Sega Saturn game, and one of my favorite games of all time. I remember it like it was yesterday when I first got the game. The day was Sunday December 22, 1996. I found out early on that Christmas NiGHTS was being offered for FREE along with Next Generation and Ultra Game Players magazines. I had to snatch one up, so I went to the grocery store and copped the Next Generation mag. It was the January 1997 issue with the black Sony PlayStation (the one that makes games) on the cover. It also came with the standard Next Generation computer demo disc as well. So, I got two CD's. Of course, I devoted all my time to Christmas NiGHTS. As soon as I got home, I played it nonstop trying to unlock all of the presents found in the game. It was hours upon hours of lots of fun. Ah, the memories...*sigh* Since then, everytime Christmas rolled around, I had to play that game. Before now, I played so often throughout the year since the game changes as the year goes by. That game is a very rare gem, and I'm so lucky to have it. It was a very bright spot in the Sega Saturn's short life. Other than playing that game, I watched some Christmas specials on television. That's pretty much it. I chilled at home throughout my first week either sleeping, watching TV, or being on the computer. Fun stuff, I tell ya...fun stuff. Well actually, it's not all that fun, but it's better than school, that's for sure.

Now at the time of this writing, it is 2:22 a.m. Central Standard Time (and ticking). It's pretty much a quiet night/morning right now. It's been raining a lot down here. It started off as a little sunny this morning, but then the clouds rolled in and squeezed the precipitation out. You know...I'm not quite feelin' the rain like I once did. I don't know why. I guess I'll still love it on some kind of level, but having so much of it during cold weather can be a bit atrocious. The sound of it can be soothing though. I went to sleep with that delightful sound during yesterday afternoon. Anyway, as Christmas Eve plods along at 2:29 a.m., I'm just sitting here at the computer typing this, doing a little chatting, listening to music, and I guess I'll be doing more web browsing. I'm running out of things to say, so I shall close this out. Have a nice little Christmas Eve...well as nice as you can make it...haha. Peace.
